Happy hump day ππ and a very warm welcome to my world π. As always glad you stopped by. Hopefully you have had or are having a great dayπ―. I am definitely grateful for this day and as it draws to a close, it's time to take a peek into how my stepping went and also share some of the trending stories I came across. Come on, let's take it away π¨.
So as usual I had two major walks just like yesterday, starting off with the fast paced brisk walk around the neighbourhood. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores and a little bit of resting. The afternoon saw me walk to the shopping centre for some cooking groceries. As always I squeezed in my usual nap before evening set in. Then it was time for the slow paced evening walk enjoying the cool evening breezeπ. Meanwhile in between the day I had been watching the trending stories on the news and also a little bit of crypto/twitter. let's dive into that next
Locally, the usual political shenanigans πΉ kept going, the govt is planning a rather controversial finance bill that most people are opposed to, especially the mandatory housing levyπ.
On the continent, fighting continued in Khartoum Sudan despite of the 7 days ceasefireπ. The ceasefire was brokered by Saudi Arabia and the US so as to enable humanitarian aid reach civilians and also those trapped in war zones escape. However, sporadic gunfire still heard in several areas. Today an army helicopter shot downπ.
Over in Ukraine, Russia has accused Ukraine of attacks at the border town of Belgorod in Russian territory. But Ukraine denied it. An anti Kremlin group calling itself freedom/ liberty of Russia has admitted responsibilityπΉ.
Also trending in Switzerland, sad news for the music world as legendary singer Tina Turner died at the age of 83π. The queen of rock and roll had a tough life, survived gender based violence but in the end she won big time. She made more money than she could ever need and met the love of her life. My sincere condolences to her familyπ―.
Elsewhere in Switzerland, AI based technology has been used to help a paralysed man walk again. It has been ten years since he got paralysed in a motorcycle accident.Kudos to thatπ.
In Colombia, the search continues for the four missing children that survived a plane crash. Yesterday a baby's bottle and diaper were found. I just hope they can be rescued alive.
Finally in crazy weather, typhoon mawar has battered the island of Guam with heavy intense rain and high speed winds. Causing destruction and knocking out power in many areasπ. Lets hope the skies calmn down and power resored.
