Hello everyone π,
Happy Monday π and a very warm welcome to my world π. It's another 24 hours to be grateful for, we are at the tail end of May and I have had a great day. It's now that time to slow down and fill you in on how my day has been including some of the trending stories that caught my eye. As always thank you for reading and let's get it done π¨.
So I had two major walks, starting off early with fast paced morning session. I brisk walked around the neighbourhood. At least today the sun was out on a beautiful Monday morning with an amazing fresh breezeπ. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores. later in the afternoon, I stopped by the shopping center then was back home for some cooking followed by the usual nap. In between I did check out some trending news, twitter, youtube and the like. Finally I finished off the day with the slow paced evening walk in the cool breeze.
So what's been trending. Locally, the usual political shenanigans πΉ, kept going, otherwise a quiet day.
Not a quiet day in neighbouring Uganda where the president has signed into law a harsh anti gay bill that could see offenders face the death penaltyπ.
Meanwhile in Sudan, the humanitarian ceasefire has been extended for five days, this to enable aid agencies to safely deliver food and medical supplies to people in need. People continued fleeing into Chad, south Sudan and Egypt. Imagine leaving your home, not knowing if you will be able to get backπ.
Still on the continent, 71 year old Bola Tinubu was formally sworn in as Nigerian presidentπ. A tough job awaits him ahead, only time will tell whether he succeeds.
Over in Europe, Ukraine trending as the army downed more than 60 drones and missilesπΉ. For the first time some of the missiles were fired in daylight hours forcing people to take shelter in underground metro π stations in Kyiv.
Trending in Kosovo, ethnic Serbs clashed with NATO soldiers. The Serbs are protesting against the appointment of ethnic Albanian mayors. Police fired teargas to disperse the crowd and bring order.
Then political shenanigans πΉ in Spain as PM Pedro Sanchez called for snap elections in Julyπ. This after the socialist party suffered major set back in local polls on Sunday.
Across the pond in south America, Venezuela's Maduro has met Lula in Brazil as relations improve.
So that's all I got, Check me out yet again tomorrow on a terrific Tuesday βΊοΈ.Do stay safe, take care and good bye πππ Hakuna Matata π.
