Hello everyone π,
Happy Tuesday π and a very warm welcome to my world π. I am definitely grateful for this dayπ―. It's been another ordinary day and it's now time to wrap things up and get ready for bed π€. As always thank you for stopping by and let's quickly take a look at how my stepping went and also share some of the day's trending stories. Here we go again π¨.
So as usual I had two major walking sessions. Starting off with the fast paced morning session that was quite enjoyable in the fresh morning breezeπ. Then I was back indoors for the little daily household chores. Later in the afternoon I stopped by the shopping centre for some cooking groceries. I squeezed my nap into the rest of the afternoon. Then the final evening walk happened before I got back home safe and sound calling it a day. Of course in between I was watching the news including crypto -bitcoin if finally sticking above 70kπ , lets get into that next.
Trending locally, the usual political shenanigansπΉ kept going, otherwise a quiet day.
Globally, another horrendous day in Gaza as 72 Palestinians are killed in the last 24 hoursπΏ. Israeli airstrikes continued in Rafa in the south and Deir Al Balah in central Gaza. The 72 include 9 people killed at Kuwait roundabout as they waited for relief foodπ.
Meanwhile Qatar has said it was working to ensure a lasting ceasefire in Gaza. Qatar has also sent more than 85 planes carrying aid to Gaza as part of relief effort.
Speaking of relief, the charity ship, Open Arms, has set off from Cyprus headed to Gaza with 200 tonnes of food. Another 500 tonnes remained at the port to be delivered later.
The major problem will be the offloading of the cargo since Gaza doesn't have a port and the waters are too shallow for the ship to be dockedπ
The distance it will cover is 320km and will get to Gaza in two to three days.
Trending in Europe, Ukraine launched a massive drone attack into Russiaπ. A major oil refinery reportedly badly damaged. President Zelensky said the Russian advance in the east of the country has been halted.
Across the pond in the US, govt spokesman John Kirby has warned that Israel should not go ahead with a ground offensive in Rafa without a proper plan in hand to protect Gaza civilians.
This as Netanyahu has vowed to go ahead with ground attack in Rafaπ.
In regards to Ukraine, $300 million package will be sent to help support the war with Russia.
Finally, down in Haiti, the prime minister has agreed to resign as soon as a transitional council is put in place.
Meanwhile, the meeting in Jamaica of Caribbean leaders kept going figuring out how to bring order in Haiti.
The gangs are running wild and things are in a big mess. Kenya had planned to send 1,000 police officers but that has been put on hold.
It's gonna be hard work but am sure order will be restored and a new govt elected democratically.
