Hi everyone 😻,
Happy Monday🌞 and a very warm welcome to my report. Hopefully your new week has been off to a great start. On my part I have had just another ordinary day stepping it out around the neighborhood.
As always thank you for stopping by and let's quickly look at how my day went and most of the trending stories from around the globe.
So I kicked off the day with a short walk around the neighborhood. It was a chilly morning.
However, soon afterwards the sun 🌞 shone through and it's been sunny the entire day.
I had a slow paced evening walk in the beautiful sunset🌄, taking in the cool breeze as I made my way back after exploring a new street around here.
Let's swiftly move into the trending of the day.
The biggest one, Iran has announced 5 days of mourning 😭 following death of its president and foreign Minister in a helicopter crash.
The helicopter was reported missing for over 13 hours before the wreckage was found and reality dawned on the country.
In the middle east, Gaza trending as Israel continued to pound the north, central and southern areas. Over 180 deaths reported since Sunday😿.
In Israel, anti govt protesters turned up outside Knesset building asking PM Netanyahu to resign over his handling of the war.
In Europe, international criminal court or ICC has issued an arrest warrant against Israel and Hezbollah leaders
In the other war, Russia has continued hitting villages around the Kharkiv region🙀. Deaths reported as residential buildings were damaged.
Trending in the UK, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has won bid to appeal extradition to the US.
Still in the UK, a report has found a decades-long infected blood scandal was covered up. Many people were transfused with blood containing HIV, hepatitis C, most died from those transfusions😿.
Across the pond, in the Trump hush money trial, former lawyer Michael Cohen has admitted he stole thousands from Trump organisation 🙀
Finally, Taiwan trending as the newly elected president was inaugurated into office. Congratulations 🎉 to him 🎊.
Of course China doesn't like him, but he warned China not to interfere in the democracy of Taiwan😹.
