They say water is the “Lifeblood” of the Earth!😍
Growing up in the Midwest, you take water for granted…………………
It’s cheep, and plentiful, in fact I can’t tell you how many times I have seen sprinklers running during rain storms Lol!😅
Then we relocated the family West, to the High Desert of Colorado!😊
I started reading about Court battles over the Water from the Colorado River, and learned from fellow coworkers the following phrase………..
“If’s it’s yellow it’s mellow……if it’s brown it’s down!”😳
I think you get the point Lol!😇
During the Summer I pumped water from an irrigation ditch to water my horse pasture.
I soon discovered the difference between “Senior” water Rights, and the downstream “Junior” water rights that our property had………….
Upstream they could turn off your water ANYTIME they were finished with their usage of water!😳
Years later, our family decided the Pacific Northwest would be home……..
With deep snowfall in the Mountains, and heavy rains in the valleys, you would think water would not be an issue!🤔
On the contrary, water rights battles are the number one cause of the Nooksack River flooding each year!🙄
This deep river has been slowly filling up with sand and gravel over the years.
It now takes much less rainfall to cause the river to overflow its banks!🙄
Special interest groups, are claiming ownership of “All” the water in “All” the rivers in the Northwest, and for the moment the river bed remains as it is, untouched!😮
Water is precious…….but if you search carefully through the gravel, you just might find something else!☺️
Gold my friends, yes it’s hidden in the streams of the Northwest!🤗
We recently ran into a former coworker of Liz’s in town………….
“Silvertop we didn’t find any Gold up the “Gold Mine Trail” the other day, but look what I have pulled from a few other streams!😊
Chris tells me that all totaled this is almost one ounce of gold!🤗
This is hard work my friends, and it took Chris quite a bit of time to find this Gold, but at $4491.50 spot price today, I’m sure he is very happy!☺️
Silvertop will stick to hiking, and leave the Gold panning to Chris!😇

Chris has worked very hard to get this Gold, I tried gold panning one time for eight hours and found one small flake!😅

I imagine so to have found so much. Yes, that's what I've heard about it, that it takes substantial amounts of time for small, though valuable, returns. Indeed, I don't know him, but I do too. I don't think that I'd have the motivation to do that either, my friend, I understand! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
Maybe just sluicing would be easier! Panning is hard on the back! The easiest way is a use suction to vacuum up the sand and run it down the sluice box. Much easier! But Washington state might forbid that, they do in California now which is really stupid...
Water rights are always a nightmare, unless you hold the good ones. Those junior rights equal no water at all! lol
