Riders in the sky really suits your voice man, really enjoyed that now I must say. I have also added Mr Inbetween to my list of stuff to watch, thanks for the steer.
You nailed Dreams too which is a fantastic song and one I have always liked, but find myself appreciating it even more now since Dolores passed away - isn't death funny like that sometimes - so final and she will never sing or write another song, so all that we can enjoy is what she left behind with her great band. I don't think I ever heard that Woodstock Gig version before, and hearing her big Limerick accent and her carefree honest singing was a joy to watch, she had such a haunting gorgeous voice God rest her.
That Gregory Alan Isakov one is a new one for me and what a lovely little song it is, again it really suits your singing style and another to add to your ever expanding repertoire brother.
Thanks so much for the thoughtful commentary ,its always a joy to read.
Yeah I find myself thinking about artists more once they are gone. When I read that Marie Fredriksson the singer from Roxette died a few years ago I started trying to learn some of her songs.
I also love trying to do justice to Whitney Houston songs but that continues to be a work in progress. Maybe one day I will try a full Whitney set :)
Its an honour to take first place this week and gain some extra HBI tokens, big thanks for that and for appreciating my songs.
Ya it's a strange thing, but often their level of appreciation amongst the public grows when they die. I suppose the same is true of other art forms like painting and literature.
Well earned man.
