Hi Everyone

Im back this week to take a shot at 3 Tunes for this warm sunny summer Tuesday.

These are 3 tunes I have been playing around with alot this past few days.

The first one in the set is "Dreams" by The Cranberries.

I recently wachted a documentry about Woodstock 1999 which for anyone thats interested can be found here.

In the opening scenes of this documentary it shows performances from the previous Woodstock 1994 which The Cranberries played at. This song "Dreams" is played
briefly in the intro of the documentary and it got me thinking about the song and wanting to revisit it.

I have played this song before but never felt that I found the key or chord progression that suited me.So in this set I take a shot at playing it in a whole new key with a new
progression to get us started on this TTT.

Here is the full video of The Cranberries playing this tune at Woodstock 1994

The second tune I play in my set is "Ghost riders in the sky".
I was inspired to learn this tune after hearing it play as an outro to an episode of Mr Inbetween which is an Australian black comedy crime drama which is one
of the best tv shows I have ever seen.

Here is a version of this old song played by some of country's greatest artists including Willie Nelson ,Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings

The last song is probably the best of the set.I started learning it this afternoon so the recording in the video above is the result of me playing around with the song for only an afternoon.

My friend plays this song while busking and its been stuck in my head for a while now.Today I wanted to see if I could learn it completely enough to include it in this weeks Three Tune Tuesday set.

The song is called "If I Go Im Goin" by a country artist called Gregory Alan Isakov.

Here is the video, this song really is beautiful, I will be playing it and singing it most days for the rest of my days.

Well that's it folks ,I hope you enjoy my attempts to cover these three songs for this Three Tune Tuesday.

I will see what I can come up with for next weeks set.

Riders in the sky really suits your voice man, really enjoyed that now I must say. I have also added Mr Inbetween to my list of stuff to watch, thanks for the steer.

You nailed Dreams too which is a fantastic song and one I have always liked, but find myself appreciating it even more now since Dolores passed away - isn't death funny like that sometimes - so final and she will never sing or write another song, so all that we can enjoy is what she left behind with her great band. I don't think I ever heard that Woodstock Gig version before, and hearing her big Limerick accent and her carefree honest singing was a joy to watch, she had such a haunting gorgeous voice God rest her.

That Gregory Alan Isakov one is a new one for me and what a lovely little song it is, again it really suits your singing style and another to add to your ever expanding repertoire brother.

Thanks so much for the thoughtful commentary ,its always a joy to read.

Yeah I find myself thinking about artists more once they are gone. When I read that Marie Fredriksson the singer from Roxette died a few years ago I started trying to learn some of her songs.

I also love trying to do justice to Whitney Houston songs but that continues to be a work in progress. Maybe one day I will try a full Whitney set :)

Its an honour to take first place this week and gain some extra HBI tokens, big thanks for that and for appreciating my songs.

Ya it's a strange thing, but often their level of appreciation amongst the public grows when they die. I suppose the same is true of other art forms like painting and literature.

big thanks for that and for appreciating my songs.

Well earned man.

Awesome stuff @celticheartbeat and great to hear you perform!
Congratulations on the win and hope to hear some more from you!
The Cranberries were awesome and you have great variety in what you picked:)

What a great mix of songs you've shared, the first one dreams sounded really cool, the second one actually made me feel like I was watching a cowboy movie and the third one is beautifully sad.

I'm glad you enjoyed the songs, it was fun to take a shot at singing all 3 in a set. I especially like singing the 3rd one :).
