Because I am stuck in the early 2000s, i would like to use Linkin Park as my entry for 3 tune tuesday. Ever since their big hits as a young band, they have just pumped out hit after hit. Banger after banger in my opinion. There is some of their newer albums that i havent fully digested yet, but i really need to catch up and hear it all. Primarily, their big song was One Step closer which is good, but not quite my favorite. Their early days were filled with heavy guitar, lot of scream, and the official music video for One Step shows just how young the band was at the time. Tragically Chester Bennington, lead singer took his life not long ago. A lot of childhood trauma comes through in the lyrics, and he really expressed it through his style.
I had the chance to see them once in concert, a few years back. Might have been 2015 or 2016, something like that, and they put on a hell of a show. I believe i may have snapped a few photos that i can dig up; but i was far back that time, so i wasnt close enough to get anything good anyways, so won't bother digging for it.
Id like to pick 1 heavy song, 1 in between, and 1 softer song to showcase their range, as i think they had a good range of talent. Known for a great voice, clean or scream. Wonderful rap lyrics by Chesters sidekick Mike Shinoda, and great band talent from guitar, bass, keyboard, and others.

Right in the middle of their career, and not too heavy, little electronic dance type of vibe. I love the drawn out vocals, and that gosh dang energy again. This one gets me in my soul for some reason.

Definitely Boom. I like the power vocal style sometimes. I think if an artist can pull off a good clean voice too though, dam it makes them so much more talented.

I agree. I really like Killswitch Engage as they get the growling and do the clean voices really well. It makes such a good contrast

I actually really like Killswitch, at least their stuff with Howard. My curse, rose of sharyn, end of heartache. Hes a legend in metal, he knows it. Hes had some issues i think, cant remember if he planned on getting together again, or if they did and have something new, im not even sure.
But yeah, good shit Boom.
I love them and like you say that period with Howard was totally the best. Rose of Sharyn. Ooft that song gets me everytime. I learned it on guitar once and boy I still struggle with the stretches at one bit as it is so fast and punchy!
He came back for one song but I have been out of the loop on their most recent stuff. I should fix that! The last album I had was Hate by Design? I think that was the name of it. In this streaming universe it is hard to remember the album titles at times
