2021 ROUND 66 (Closes 11am UTC 13th May 2021)

WHAT YOU WIN

WINNER

After 7 days I will decide which track I like the most! The winning track selected (by me) will win all the liquid earnings that this post accumulates and the confirmation of funds transfer will be shared in the following round.

SPECIAL MENTIONS

Sometimes you guys and gals give me SUCH awesome selections that it is really hard to choose just one winner.... so if there are any additional tracks which I absolutely LOVE I will send those individuals a Hive prize of my own discretion.

HOW TO ENTER

All you have to do is share a link in the comments to a song that you are really enjoying at the moment - whether it is new or old it does not matter and neither does the music genre... whether you have loved it your entire life or just for a day is irrelevant! just NO personal promo links please! And please do not look at MY track genre selection as a guide to what you should or should not share... I have an incredibly eclectic taste in music and will no doubt continue to shock most of you as the weekly rounds unfold haha!

text16.png

Right! With the logistics out the way... let's get to it!

MY TRACK SELECTION/S FOR THE WEEK

which is of no consequence really haha - but what fun would it be if I didn't get to share with you all as well!

King Crimson - Dinosaur

It's a middle-of-the-day kind of song. Well, today it is.

One great Prophet:

Oh...someone has been listening to my #FF sounds track. 😄

This video is one of my all time favorites.

Goddamnit I missed dropping my link last week. But I will do so now.

A classic. And fitting in times like these. As usual it is often reading between the lines in music like this, and once you do they becomes masterpieces. Great remixes are out there but I share the official vid, as you have to go through a lot of music and a 10 min remix wouldn't help lol. 🤗

I'm not sure what's up with my front end. Are you able to click on these tracks? I can't. But is that who I think it is, did you link a Hopsin track?! I can't click it, is that Hopsin?

I could click on the tracks. And it's Faithless, not Hopsin. Trip-Hop Dance music, at least that's what they call their music. Brits.

Must be my Ecency app. 🤔 I'm still unable to click. I thought it was him like:

'Wait!! Time out! Hold the fuckin phone! Did the whitty German bust out Hopsin??'

Lol, sorry to disappoint you on the Hopsin, but if you ever be able to click you might like it too. Until then just imagine it is Hopsin lol.

Sending some hugs over!

You can't disappoint me!

I could probably sign into peakd and not keep running into the same issue but that involves copy/pasting my keys.. signing out.. sign back in and I just woke up. Sounds exhausting.

You know who Hopsin is though, right? It's quite alright if you don't. Many of my friends over here aren't familiar with him, hence the extra surprise when I saw your choice like "who's that?!"

Watcha got going this weekend Anna, ridin on the back of a strangers motorcycle?

Good morning sunshine 😊 . Don't you use the Keychain? No copy paste...oh wait phone might be different. Anyways I ask Mr.Google who Hopsin is 😉 . Check The Weekend and you know what I had going lol.

Thank you!!

Today's Friday Follow music thread was about #ToTheMoon and one of my favorite moon songs is by Van Morrison, who has more than a couple of relaxing songs to enjoy the day, even if it is cloudy and rain with no chance of seeing the Moon.

I love this song! Love it.

I don't know the last time I heard it. Thank you.

Enjoy the upbeat jazzy sound he made, nice selection!

I'm forced to like it ... I really like it! Good choice.

Thank you so much for the mention ma'am and for the gift. Grateful 😊

My selection for this week.

https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=06ht9MyJLT4&feature=share

she has such an angelic voice.

Have a great weekend.
My regards to Jude.✨💙

I'm unable to click any of these videos for some reason. I'm gonna try to remember to come back to this.

I think I had similar issue too, don't know why.

Nevertheless, the song is

Running with the wolves by Aurora

Workin now! Very nice sir. Hope you're having a nice weekend.

Oh yes I am thanks for asking, but my team is loosing at the moment so not feeling great now 😅

Since I've heard this song so many years ago and the ending soundtrack of The Red October. I've not been able to get it off my head since.

I'm talking of the national anthem of the Soviet Union, composed in 1944.

I hope you'll like it, it remains the best national anthem in the world.

👍 besides mine I like that one the best so far lol. From the ones that have been dropped here so far today.

hahaha, thanks 💕 I think it's a funny song!

A delicate and very pleasant love song. I'm a Supertramp fan and when I say Supertramp, I mean Roger Hodgson!

Supertramp and individual performances by Roger Hodgson always a pleasure.

I'm glad you like it!

Hey @jaynie

My entry for this contest week will be
Marshmello-Silence ft Khalid

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Tx1sqYc3qas

I've always just loved the song, it sort of help me reclaim my sanity when I'm down. So I use to relax and remind myself that I'm not alone in my struggles.

I hope you'll find it useful too..

Hello. I really like sharing music on posts like these.
This is the first thing that came to my mind although I listen to Jeff Beck's version more often, this is that live performance that gives me chills every time.
The difference between eastern and western music is very big, I really felt it in this song. I hope you listen to it with headphones and it brings you peace and a nice groove like it did to me :)

Any one remember these guys?
This was right around the time when I moved to 'the big city" to study abroad 😃

I'm unable to click any of these tracks for some reason but I know Pharrell when I see him. 👍🏿

Excellent choice. I've seen him perform twice. Once was real good and the other time he had to play on the same stage as The Roots and, well, that didn't work out well for him.

At all.

listen to this version!

Mums favorite when I was young now mine and it’s true 😉

This track of the day stuff is great. I dig catching all the tunes I haven't heard in awhile.

Some people are earning money on copyrighted music, while others create original content, and earn a few cents with it.
Nice job Hive.

It is a fun and interactive contest aimed at giving hive to many of those people you refer to that don't make much on their posts... I cannot help for the votes given to people and their content but I do what I can and this is one of the ways in which I do. Hope that makes sense :)

People should comment genuine, original things more, which involves honest interaction, instead of posting copyrighted music for money. Earning money on copyrighted things counts as a crime in most countries, and the original author may sue the authors of these comments. Just saying. I do not want bad things to anyone.

Well you are right about the genuine levels of engagement. Hive certainly needs a lot more of that... but we can only do what we can do I suppose...

Hope you have a great weekend @xplosive

Thank you. I also wish a great weekend to you and to everyone else.

Upvoted comments means someone appreciates that comment. If that comment holds a link to a song, someone may upvote it which, around here, isn't much different than a High Hive.

Trying to bust someone's balls for hosting an initiative that gathers the community together to appreciate songs we've either never heard or are hearing for the first time is uncalled for. It's no different than putting money in the juke box at a pizza joint and someone loves the song you played so much they buy you a beer.

It's called engagement @xplosive, copyright infringement should constitute real earnings, not pennies, and this world is way too uptight in 2021. I'm surrounded by nay sayers. Everyone knows everything, they're smarter than Judge Judy. everyone's better than everyone, boooorrrring, snitching is the new form of communication and people overreact to sharing good music.

Trying to bust someone's balls for hosting an initiative that gathers the community together to appreciate songs we've either never heard or are hearing for the first time is uncalled for.

If you read my conversation with the author in the comments under this post, then you know that "busting" was not my intention. I would rather say that I wrote a constructive critique about this initiative. Probably the author of this post also agree with this.

Constructive critique and busting someone's balls are one and the same where I come from and neither should be taken personally, I was merely constructively critiquing your comment to Jaynie because you didn't attach a song.

I'm still waiting....

I share my own piano play from virtualpiano.net:

The song is not my own, but the play is.
I prefer original content, even if it is just/only partially original.

Nice! I love the keys myself. I've had many studios in my life, been without one for about five years now. The turntables were my forte, keys are beautiful and the mixing boards are magical.

Check out the track I shared here if you get a chance. Bradley Nowell - RIP. I met that dude in a garage in Lancaster, California back when I was 'about' 14 years old—little more than 30 years ago.

Wow! It's my first time coming across this.
One of my best, here it is

This weeks tune is dedicated to the bottom feeder hackers who stole my crypto last weekend. Read about the scumbags here Hamburglar Hackers

May you all...

Burn in Hell - Twisted Sister (epic classic video)

Pee Wee Hacker

Congratulations to all and here is our selection for this week. We watch Breakfast at Tiffany's for the first time and we are simply obsessed with Audrey Hepburn. And here she is with a song which she tributed in the movie.

I love the story of the dancer in this video and how cool he dances!

My track choice is by a band I have a lot of time for...It's a remake of a Glen Campbell song from 1967. I love this video also as it speaks to me; Mountains and all, the exertion of climbing, fires in the wilderness and the wide open spaces. It reminds me of my need to go away sometimes, even just emotionally, to find solace, peace and myself. Anyway, I just like it and most of their other stuff from time to time - It's a little different, like me.

It’s knowing that your door is always open
And your path is free to walk
That makes me tend to leave my sleeping bag
Rolled up and stashed behind your couch

Gentle on my mind

A little something towards the week 66 prize pool for musical awesomeness.

Hmm... I think for my participation this week I'll drop this one - Try, Try, Try by Rachael Sage.

Reaching for a bit of "sunny mood" electronica/techno this week... hard to be in a bad mood after listening to this in surround sound... and yet it has a melancholic and reflective undertone; seems to fit these days, somehow:

📣Congrats on your winning entry!
@deanlogic👏

This week my song selection is
"Big Yellow Taxi"
redone by the
Counting Crows
featuring Vanessa Carlton

Hope you guys enjoy the tune!!!
🎶🎤👨‍🎤🎶
Good luck, Music Lovers!
A fantastic rest of the week & weekend to everyone!
