Do you have music that never fails to calm you down?
For the last couple of weeks, I have been sharing artists instead of collections of music from different artists. My selection is also often R&B/Soul or hip hop so if you enjoy these genres you should be tuning out to my weekly selection!
This time, I will introduce you Taiwanese American Singer, Luke Chiang. At first, I thought he was Vietnam American but after checking out his soundcloud page, I was wrong. From his soundcloud page, he mentioned some of his influences are Tom Misch and Daniel Caesar. If you have listened to both musicians, you could see how apparent their influence is in Luke's music. There are only 5 tracks and it’s available worldwide on soundcloud. I think that his soothing voice and joyful arrangements in some of his tracks makes him worth checking out especially if you are into R&B/Soul and want to discover new artists to listen to. Alright, without further adieu…. Let me show you three top tracks from Luke Chiang, perfect to listen with a warm perfect cup of coffee.
Shouldn’t be
This song is sad and really relaxing to listen to. It’s really typical R&B with its musical arrangements that are noticeable too. Did you know that R&B is also about telling a story? That’s why you often see the lyrics are more elaborate. It’s like, “ here, I have a story to tell you but I am going to sing it.
May I ask
This song is about meeting that Ex you had when you were young, and though you still love the person, they just don’t love you anymore and things have changed. This song is melodic, calming, and melancholy. I love to listen to this song whenever I am at the coffee shop just because it sets the mood to be creative.
Paragraphs
The last one is my favorite of all time. I just like how melodic it sounds and how the lyrics are quite relatable to me. This song is basically about trying to save a relationship on the brink of separation. Give it a listen if you enjoy something soft and soothing for your ears because that’s what Luke’s voice is all about.
As you see, even from these three, the common theme on Luke’s music is all about a sad romance. He also follows a somewhat typical RnB song writing guide. But what we all can appreciate is obviously how soothing his voice can be and how his music is just really easy to listen to.

Great steer @macchiata, I must admit I had never heard of Luke Chiang, but I really like what I hear. Before listening I took your suggestion and made a nice big cup of warm coffee, it is lashing rain here outside and these songs were very soothing.
😄 good choice! speaking about coffee, I am gonna have to make them and listen to his playlist again.
Yes, coffee is always good!
