RE: Jean-Henri Ravina, Harmonic Study in A Minor, op 39 no 5

Do you know the history for this piece?
According to one source I found, the composer is Narciso Yepes, but everyone knows the work as Romanze Anónimo. That is what I read. Do you know more details?

Sort:

I think the author is anonymous.

Below, what is translation from the Italian wikipedia:

Forbidden Games is also the title of the song that Narciso Yepes used as the soundtrack of the homonymous movie, attributing himself the authorship of the song.

In reality the precise attribution of the song is controversial. Some have attributed it to the great guitarist Fernando Sor, others to Narciso Yepes, who claims to have written it at the age of 7; others, finally, think that the melody is of popular origin [5] Many other composers wanted to attribute the copyright by changing the title each time: Romance, Forbidden Games, Spanish Romance, Romance D'amour, Melodie de Sor, Romance d'Amor, Jeux Interdits Romance, Romantico and others, but it is enough to remember that, eleven years before René Clément's film, the melody had a predominant part in the soundtrack of the 1941 film Blood and Arena, directed by Rouben Mamoulian, with Tyrone Power, Rita Hayworth and Linda Darnell.

Everything seems crazy.... in line with our age of madness?
A huge hug... the piano practice is waiting me! 😍

On the score in my possession it says that the melody is from the 18th century! (if you want I will send you a better defined photo)

@amico.sports, I was already reading from the photo from your Actifit Report 🤓😜, so I saw something that 18th century was mentioned 🤷 who will know. The important thing is that you are working now on it and soon we are going to listen to 🎶🎧

The (my very personal). organ version is already decent ... but I want to perfect the piano. 😁

Aspetteremo pazientemente 😌

Dice el sabio: la paciencia es la virtud del fuerte. ¿Será realmente así?

¡Un gran abrazo! 🤗
