So it's time to wave the punk rock flag again and scare the musical fellows of the Music Community a little bit. 😎
As if punk music wasn't bad enough for most listeners, today I'm going to dive into the world of horror punk and introduce you to three bands that, despite their outwardly bloodthirsty demeanor, with a lot of fun and melody.
Provided that you are not a sensitive person and have a, admittedly somewhat weird sense of humor.
But for now a short look at the forefathers of this genre, ... MISFITS).
Without a doubt, the guys around singer DANZIG were at that time, in about 1977, probably the first to make no secret of their preference for cheap B Movie's, monsters, horror and mutations and could certainly not foresee at that time how many bands they should influence in the future with their music.
For example HORROR SECTION, a band from Missouri that is so shrouded in mystery that you can hardly find any information about them.
I can tell from their album releases that they've been active for about 6 years, but I couldn't find much more information about them.

With EATEN BACK TO LIFE, also from Missouri, it is similar.
Not only that you can hardly find out anything about the musicians, but also the sound is very similar to the above mentioned and I have the suspicion that these two bands somehow belong together. However, these horror punk's have been around since 2009.

THE PANIC BEATS is a punk rock band from Port Huron, Michigan and is the crazy offspring of Dale McFly, once frontman of the punk band The McFlys.
He ventured into this solo side project in early 2007 and has been going crazy ever since.
Influenced by the Ramones and Misfits, the songs are fast and straightforward with a dark, vicious tone. A fondness for splatter / horror movies and a extreme warped view of romance dominate the lyrics and themes.
Not for the faint hearted. 😱

That you should not take this kind of music too seriously, I hope I don't have to mention and I don't think that behind the musicians are completely insane psychopaths, but rather some punk's with weird humor, a penchant for simple melody and a lot of fun in life, even if it may not seem so.

Als wäre Punkmusik für die meisten Hörer nicht schon schlimm genug, tauche ich heute einmal in die Welt des Horror Punk ein und stelle euch drei Bands vor, die trotz ihres nach außen hin blutrünstigen Gebarens, durchaus mit jeder Menge Witz und Melodie auffahren.
Vorausgesetzt man ist kein Sensibelchen und verfügt über einen, zugegebenermaßen etwas schrägen Humor.
Doch vorerst ein kurzer Blick auf die Urväter dieses Genres, … MISFITS.
Zweifelsohne waren die Jungs um Sänger DANZIG seinerzeit, in etwa im Jahre 1977, die wohl Ersten, die aus ihrer Vorliebe zu billigen B Movie´s, Monstern, Horror und Mutationen kein Geheimnis machten und konnten damals sicher nicht ahnen, wie viele Bands sie in der Zukunft mit ihrer Musik beeinflussen sollten.
So zum Beispiel HORROR SECTION, eine Band aus Missouri, die so Geheimnis umwoben ist, das man kaum Informationen über sie findet.
An den Veröffentlichungen ihrer Alben ist zu erkennen, das sie seit etwa 6 Jahren aktiv sind, viel mehr an Infos konnte ich nicht ausfindig machen.

Mit EATEN BACK TO LIFE, ebenfalls aus Missouri, verhält es sich ähnlich.
Nicht nur das man kaum etwas über die Musiker in Erfahrung bringen kann, auch der Sound ist dem der oben genannten sehr ähnlich und es drängt sich der Verdacht auf, das diese beiden Bands irgendwie zusammen gehören. Allerdings treiben diese Horror Punk´s schon seit dem Jahre 2009 ihr Unwesen.

THE PANIC BEATS
ist eine Punk-Rock-Band aus Port Huron, Michigan und ist der verrückte Sprössling von Dale McFly, einst Frontmann der Punkband The McFlys.
Er wagte sich Anfang 2007 an dieses Solo-Nebenprojekt und hat sich seither in den Wahnsinn gesteigert. Beeinflusst von den Ramones und Misfits, sind die Songs schnell und geradlinig mit einem dunklen, bösartigen Ton. Die Vorliebe für Splatter / Horrorfilme und eine extrem verzerrte Sicht auf Romantik bestimmen die Texte und Themen.

Das man diese Art der Musik nicht allzu ernst nehmen sollte, muss ich hoffentlich nicht erwähnen und ich glaube nicht, das sich hinter den Musikern völlig irre Psychopathen verbergen, sondern eher ein paar Punk´s mit Hang zur einfachen Melodie, einem ausgeprägt schrägen Humor und jeder Menge Spaß am Leben, auch wenn es nicht so scheinen mag.
