Last weekend I happened to hear a song on the radio that inspired me to write this post. At the same time, it is the first song I actively remember. It comes from a time when television had only two programs and started in the late afternoon. At that time, the radio was on in almost every home during the day as a medium of entertainment. So we go back to the 70s.
Notice the typical scratching at the beginning of the song.
Am vergangenen Wochenende habe ich im Radio zufällig einen Song gehört, der mich zu diesem Beitrag inspiriert hat. Zugleich ist es das Lied an dass ich mich aktiv als erstes erinnern kann. Es stammt aus einer Zeit, als das Fernsehen nur zwei Programme hatte und am späten Nachmittag startete. Zu dieser Zeit lief in fast jeder Wohnung tagsüber das Radio als Unterhaltungsmedium. Wir reisen also in die 70er-Jahre zurück.
Man achte auf das typische Kratzen am Anfang des Liedes.

Then I asked myself which songs I still remembered. I remembered sitting at the kitchen table doing my homework with the record player blaring from the living room. My mother used to listen to this song over and over again, so it stuck with me. I still have that record today.
Ich habe mich dann gefragt, an welche Lieder ich mich noch erinnern kann. Dabei kam dann die Erinnerung zurück, wie ich am Küchentisch saß und Schulaufgaben machte, während aus dem Wohnzimmer der Plattenspieler herüberschallte. Meine Mutter hörte dieses Lied immer wieder und so ist es auch mir in Erinnerung geblieben. Diese Schallplatte besitze ich heute noch.

Another song I remember was always playing on the car radio when we went for a Sunday drive. My parents drove an orange BMW 2002 tii that was also tuned. When we were on the highway and my dad accelerated, my brother and I were literally pushed into the back seat. Then we hooted in chorus and really had fun.
Ein weiteres Lied an dass ich mich erinnere, lief immer im Autoradio, wenn wir Sonntags einen Ausflug machten. Meine Eltern fuhren damals einen orangefarbenen BMW 2002 tii der zudem noch getunt war. Wenn wir auf die Autobahn auffuhren und mein Vater dann Gas gab, wurden meinem Bruder und ich regelrecht in den Rücksitz gepresst. Dann johlten wir im Chor und hatten richtig Spaß.
