The turning of the seasons: Early Autumn musings. Name this dark fantasy improvisational lullaby and life updates

in Music2 months ago (edited)

Still here? I love you for doing so :) Thank you :)

Autumn drifts in like a gentle whisper, a season that invites us indoors, where the air feels thick with stories waiting to be written and melodies waiting to be born. It has always felt to me like the most romantic of times, a bittersweet prelude to the haunting season ahead, when shadows grow long and the world turns inward. Ever since I shared one of my earliest songs "I steal the leaves" Autumn is a season I always return to in my music.

The flow of the seasons reminds me that nothing stands still: beauty is fleeting, challenges come and go, yet in their passing they shape us. Even when I feel overwhelmed, lost in the weight of it all, I find myself returning to music, my compass, my constant, my rock in the storm. It is there I anchor, where I breathe again, where I remember that endurance is also a something you cultivate with creativity. I will probably lean to some mysterious slightly dark music because my mood has been a bit "intense" but I confess I have a weak spot for my haunting music side even if it's not the most popular.

So let me haunt you 🍂 with this ethereal early autumn improvisation with my Koshi wind chimes. Close your eyes, I hope it pulls you into a dark fantasy realm. It's that time of the year as we approach Autumn Equinox and though Summer is still lingering where I live, there's something already shifting in the air and light. I hope this mysterious melody whisper its title into your mind. The sound is right from the phone (only an echo added) but I am considering to make a longer version.

Suggest titles... who is singing? a nymph? a ghost? a fairy? Should it become something longer, though I'm not sure if it should remain without words. Sound right from my phone as it was improvised.

I should have sent it already to distribution but i want to make "leaves never settle in the wind" and Life and Decay official, so they've been remastered and I hope to send them up soon. For Life and Decay I've made an extended version and it will be double the length of the version that is already on my youtube channel. I'm already late to send it but so is life.

Here a short recorded the same day, a melody that has returned again, though more uplifting. Can you spot the first leaves falling?

By the way I intend to upload more shorts often to keep the channel active, so feel free to check them out, like the one that opens this post. Here's another from the same day

Thank you so much to everyone who has reached out with kind messages about me and Justina. She’s doing well. She’s regained her balance and most of her neurological issues have improved, though she remains blind. Now she’s a cherished little indoor companion, with us day and night, showered in love and all the treats she wants.

As for me, my own health has been a bit complicated, and I haven’t been outdoors much this summer. When I go quiet is likely due to this. It’s been a season of quiet composing, recording, resting, and healing—together. And of course… lots of cuddles. 💕 Here’s a recent picture of us.

Justina and Priscilla.jpg

We visited the cabin and the coop after the heatwave and everything felt almost autumnal because it was so charred. It feels very solitary being just Justina, who can't stay there anymore. But it brings the memories of noisy happy hens to my memory. I miss them dearly. It's just Justina and me now.

I also recorded a little lullaby for Justina and Henrietta back in April (as some of you remember, Henrietta passed suddenly early May) and I decided to clean it up a little and add some more sounds in the studio, so I'll share it soon, :) I was not ready to share footage of Henrietta's after her passing and I was afraid for Justina a while, but she's stable right now and I think it deserves to be shared. My angel needs a lullaby but it's also for them all, all my flock now in heaven.

Here the only decent tomato of this harvest (haha)

And here a sneak peak of a song I've been working on "I heard the voices calling" I took this picture on my own using a tripod, and despite the "crawlies" It felt pretty liberating and feral, just as the song is. I filmed a simple video but as it feels so summer and I still need to finish the song, I will go on working on the song.

I'm finally back in the main studio. For now, it’s just the garden outside and a little cricket in the kitchen (we call him Pepito 🦗) reminding me that Nature still lingers close by. I truly hope to recover enough soon to wander into the woods again with my camera, but in the meantime, Autumn has a way of drawing me into cozy days of reflection and quiet work with a hot cup of tea.

I’m taking this “halting” season as a gift, a time to finish projects before the year comes to a close. Today I even returned to my bullet journal, a small ritual to help me focus and bring some order to the creative chaos. And there's been A LOT OF CHAOS and disarray though not delving too deep into that now.

I know I’ve been a bit absent in sharing all the behind-the-scenes work, but my health circumstances have been both special and challenging. For that reason, I am especially grateful for the kindness, patience, and support you’ve given me. It means the world. 🍂

Thanks immensely for all your support. It's been a difficult time :) but...
As in my song "the lingering light"

Follow the lingering light
It will guide you through the darkness

There's definitely a change in the air now as the nights start earlier. Your tunes fit the mood.

We are down to just one chicken now, but she seems fine and is still laying. Our tomato harvest may be better than yours.

Wishing you all the best.

I lost Henrietta in May because she laid two eggs in a row, it was devastating because I loved her so much. Justina got ill and blind but she has recovered and is an indoors pet. We are both healing and each other's support. It is very much a therapy pet. Now we are not in the cabin though I hope to return meet late autumn when it is not in use. But right now I am in the main house in the studio trying to get things done and also closer to the doctors. Lots of indoor time but maybe I will get to finish things finally. It has been a complicated time. It has taught me how much I love music, it truly is my rock

I'm glad you and Justina are healing. Loved both shorts but no name came for the first one.

Your Pepito reminded me of a tiny frog that lived in our kitchen in Florida back in the early 80's We named him Prince Charming.

As always I enjoy your music and like hearing updates of what you've been up to.

Pepito is now living free in the garden, he went out of the tile and we thought it was more appropriate to live with plants and out, but I miss the sound now. I love frogs too.
Thank you always

It's amazing how you synchronize that series of sounds translated into perfect harmony.... It sounded incredible, I loved it!

May God continue to bless you, you are beautiful! ❤️😍🙏

Thanks for the good wishes :) I'm trying to make a series of shorter videos as I take so long for the official releases, and I go quiet. I wish I had been more outdoors this summer and it's almost gone, but it's been a challenge.

Beautiful music and photos @yidneth! Hope you are well.

Justina is almost like the owner of the garden, what a sweet name her chicken has! 🍅 Tomatoes also look really delicious, it really hurts people. The photos are great, it's literally a warm album. Thank you for your hard work! 🌿✨@yidneth

Justina takes her name from thec Spanish version of Fraggle Rock a kids series from the 80s. She is the queen indeed.

Then I respect a very special queen

Beautiful singing, in harmony with nature.

Nature is my healing mother. Though I must postpone long hikes fir now, but local groves are my fix for now

Oh I love that name very fitting. I have to say that we finally found Pepito outside of the tile so we relocated him into the garden. I didn't hear him last night so I think that he has moved on to another parcel.
I am undergoing a rather a strange time, without being too revealing it's something that flares and I am navigating one right now. It is difficult to adjust or to plan or to find the energy to get things finished, but I'm hopeful and I'm grateful for the good days

Heard of Peter Gundry? He does dark and nature inspired music too.

Dark

Winter

Autumn

They are all beautiful in their own way.

I have heard a few of Peter's because spotify tend to place our music together sometimes. I will check those. By the way grateful if everyone follows me on spotify or preferred streaming service (Priscilla Hernandez)
