Welcome to my music blog, today I share with you my trumpet interpretation of «Accidentally in Love», a folk rock ballad with elements of pop and country by the American band Counting Crows. As some of you may know, it is part of the soundtrack for the animated film Shrek 2 and was composed by Adam Duritz and David Immerglück. This piece of music is in the key of G Major, with a simple and attractive melody. The tempo is moderate rock, with syncopated elements in parts in 4/4 time. The lyrics talk about a chance meeting that leads to love. Being accidentally in love is something I find funny, I'm sure that love is a conscious decision. There are important differences between an emotion and a decision. Emotions are involuntary, instinctive, fleeting, and inconsequential. Rather, decisions are voluntary, based on logic, and with lasting consequences.

Como algunos sabrán es parte de la banda sonora de la película animada Shrek 2 y fue compuesta por Adam Duritz y David Immerglück. Esta pieza musical se encuentra en la tonalidad de G Mayor, con una melodía sencilla y atractiva. El tempo es moderado rock, con elementos sincopados en algunas partes con un compás de 4/4. La letra habla sobre un encuentro casual que lleva al amor. Estar accidentalmente enamorado es algo que me parece cómico, estoy seguro de que el amor es una decisión consciente. Hay diferencias importantes entre una emoción y una decisión. Las emociones son involuntarias, instintivas, fugaces y sin consecuencias. Al contrario, las decisiones son voluntarias, basadas en la lógica y con consecuencias duraderas.
When I read sheet music, I'm less likely to make mistakes. Having a guide or visual representation helps us to stay on the right track, and to know the composer's intent. Imagine how amazing it is to have access to an unlimited number of pieces, without resorting to memory. Playing by ear also has its advantages when it comes to improvising and creating, it also helps you to increase your processing speed of musical notes, and to be more intuitive. Both ways are complementary and are of great help when interpreting a song. Reading sheet music can help you develop your understanding of music theory. You can identify the different elements of music, such as notes, rhythms, and dynamics. Playing by ear can help you develop your ear training. Both can help you improve your memory. I remember on one occasion that I was playing in a square with a musical group and the sheet music was blown away by the breeze. Fortunately, I felt prepared, and I was able to continue until the piece was finished. Some people helped me rescue the sheet music of the songs and finish the concert successfully.
Cuando leo una partitura, es menos probable que cometa errores. Tener una guía o representación visual nos ayuda a mantenernos en el camino correcto, y a conocer la intención del compositor. Imagínense lo increíble que es tener acceso a un número ilimitado de piezas, sin recurrir a la memoria. Tocar de oído también tiene sus ventajas a la hora de improvisar y crear, también te ayuda a aumentar tu velocidad de procesamiento de las notas musicales, y a ser más intuitivo. Ambas maneras son complementarias y son de gran ayuda a la hora de interpretar una canción. Leer una partitura puede ayudarte a desarrollar tu comprensión de la teoría musical. Puedes identificar los diferentes elementos de la música, como notas, ritmos y dinámicas. Tocar de oído puede ayudarte a desarrollar tu entrenamiento auditivo. Ambas pueden ayudarte a mejorar tu memoria. Recuerdo en una oportunidad que estaba tocando en una plaza con una agrupación musical y la brisa se llevó las partituras. Afortunadamente, me sentía preparado, y pude continuar hasta culminar la pieza. Algunas personas me ayudaron a rescatar las partituras de las canciones y finalizar el concierto con éxito.

tremendo post te sacaste de la manga, jajaja como se van a volar las partituras ese otro día, que desespero, menos mal te sabias lo que seguía. Estos covers asi son muy buenos, porque demuestra el compromiso del ejecutor, con seguridad puede que se necesiten varias tomas, o sino, practicar mucho para que al grabar no se pierda uno, o conocer muy bien la canción y el instrumento, de esa forma se puede sacar de una la canción, como estar cantando con la voz, no me suele pasar, pero hay gente muy buena.
