I also have a macro capture project, I don't know if you have seen it, I started it some time ago, but I am updating it in Hive.
The good thing about this is not only that the macro photos are amazing, but they also help us to know when the plant is ready, the trichomes speak for themselves, before it was difficult to harvest, I had no idea, but now through the trichomes I can make a reading and know when I can have an approximate to cut, in my last publication I explain some interesting details.
I also take a lot of pictures to choose the best one and I have improved a lot in that subject, sometimes my devices get full of so many pictures but I have been able to take a lot of them.

Yes you understand well the importance of being able to see the trichomes at a microscopic level. It certainly helps with determining harvest time, and a secondary benefit is that the photos are attractive for blogging!
My device get's full too, I generally make it a practice to delete the daily batches of photographs after making a post, or it will slow my device down to not being functional.
