Sunbathing

SI hay algo que me encanta fotografiar es mi gato, y aunque a veces es una misión complicada, me desafío a mi misma a captarlo en momentos únicos, la cuestión es que debo ser muy cuidadosa ya que el suele escapar del lente de la cámara o si me muevo demasiado deja de hacer lo que yo quería capturar, por ejemplo, esta mañana amaneció muy soleado, el sol estaba pegando directamente por la ventana de mi sala rebotando en el suelo y a Tommy le encanta tomar sol, se revuelca sobre la luz cálida del sol y lo disfruta, en ese momento quise empezar a tomarle fotografías ya que se veía muy hermoso y tierno.

If there's one thing I love to photograph, it's my cat, and although it's sometimes a complicated mission, I challenge myself to capture him in unique moments. The thing is, I have to be very careful because he tends to escape the camera lens, or if I move too much, he stops doing what I wanted to capture. For example, this morning dawned very sunny; the sun was shining directly through my living room window, bouncing off the floor, and Tommy loves to sunbathe. He rolls around in the warm sunlight and enjoys it. At that moment, I wanted to start taking pictures of him because he looked so beautiful and cute.

Quizás no son la mejor calidad de fotografías ya que use mi celular nuevo y este tiene una cámara bastante básica, de hecho su cámara es uno de sus puntos más débiles pero siempre intento configurarla de la mejor manera para que se vea más nítida la imagen, siempre que enfoco a mi gato con esta cámara se ve casi completamente blanco y debo configurarlo siempre o sino solo se vera un fantasma. En ese momento no tenia mi otro celular a la mano (el cual toma las foto de una calidad mucho mas superior) y si lo buscaba probablemente mi gato dejaría de tomar el sol, asi que hice lo que pude con lo poco que tenia en el momento, lo que mas me gusto es que logre configurar la cámara para que se viera casi todo oscuro excepto la luz del sol y mi gatito, me encanta ese contraste de oscuridad y la luz justo en donde el esta.

Perhaps the photos aren't the best quality since I used my new phone, which has a pretty basic camera. In fact, the camera is one of its weakest points, but I always try to configure it as best as possible to get a sharper image. Whenever I focus on my cat with this camera, he comes out almost completely white, and I always have to adjust the settings, otherwise he just looks like a ghost. At that moment, I didn't have my other phone with me (which takes much higher quality photos), and if I went to get it, my cat would probably stop sunbathing. So I did what I could with what little I had at the time. What I liked most is that I managed to configure the camera so that almost everything was dark except for the sunlight and my kitten. I love that contrast between the darkness and the light right where he is.

El efecto claroscuro junto con las texturas (como la sombra de las rejas de la ventana) hacen que para mi estas fotografías se vean muy lindas, y ni siquiera las pude ver bien en el momento que las tomaba ya que tome muchas seguidas con la esperanza de que al final, pudiera rescatar 1, resulta que me encontré con muchas fotos que me gustaron.

The chiaroscuro effect along with the textures (like the shadow of the window bars) makes these photographs look very beautiful to me, and I couldn't even see them well at the time I took them since I took many in a row hoping that in the end, I could salvage 1, it turns out that I found many photos that I liked.

Y lo mejor de todo es ver a un hermoso gatito en confianza, disfrutando de la calidez del sol por la mañana y recargando energía para un nuevo día lleno de travesuras,

And the best part is seeing a beautiful kitten feeling confident, enjoying the warmth of the morning sun and recharging its energy for a new day full of mischief.

A beautiful cat and great photos. Phone cameras—even the better ones—can’t handle such a wide tonal range in a scene, so in a situation like this, you have to decide what to focus the exposure on. The cat was the most important thing here, and (at least on the phone) it looks OK.
