Exploring Toronto's Graffiti Alley

When I first heard of Graffiti Alley in Toronto, I immediately had the urge to go! 😍 However, the opportunity did not officially present itself until just recently. Although there was a lot to explore (too much, in fact!), I want to share just a few of my favorite pieces!~

Graffiti Alley can be found downtown, in the heart of Toronto's fashion/shopping district and just outside of Chinatown. It spans nearly 1 kilometer in length, with artwork being found anywhere between Spadina and Portland Avenue. Since it is nicknamed the "New York of Canada," it should come as no surprise that Toronto has dealt with graffiti and vandalism for years! However, rather than continue to fight a losing battle, the city founded StreetARToronto in 2012, a program designed to encourage artists to paint areas of the city, rather than try to prevent it.

Art, of course, is subjective, and while not everyone enjoys the artwork of the city, Graffiti Alley has become a huge tourist attraction and is regarded in a positive light! It also features pieces from some very well-known Toronto art groups, such as the Humble Servants Of Art, SKAM, and DOHCrew.

SO! without further ado, let's admire some of the work in Graffiti Alley! 😃 And as always, if you ever get the chance to do so, be sure to check it out for yourself someday!~

Very cool art work. Love all the colors in these. I wish there was graffiti like this near me because it is so cool seeing this stuff.

Great images! Really looks like it was worth the journey, that's some pretty mazing work.
