Head Like A Hole

~ Pot Head ~

This pot is a head. The plants grow in the head. This is a head that is also a pot. I took these shots to warm up and get back into photography. I didn't post them in my first Kalmar and Katharsis post since it was already so long.

  • “Thought is the blossom; language the bud; action the fruit behind it.”

— Ralph Waldo Emerson

A few years ago i tried to grow an Olive Tree inside a head pot. I tried to find the link but it was a long time ago and i couldn't find it. Feel free to go look through my blog if you like. Unfortunately, the Olive tree didn't make it.

  • “Most of the mistakes in thinking are inadequacies of perception rather than mistakes of logic.”

— Edward de Bono

I found some cool quotes to go along with this pot head and the different shots of it. I hope you enjoy the photography as well as the quotes. The source for the quotes is linked at the very bottom.

  • “A great many people think they are thinking when they are merely rearranging their prejudices.”

— William James

  • “A man who does not think for himself does not think at all.”

— Oscar Wilde

  • “Begin challenging your own assumptions. Your assumptions are your windows on the world. Scrub them off every once in awhile, or the light won’t come in.”

— Alan Alda

  • “Building art is a synthesis of life in materialized form. We should try to bring in under the same hat not a splintered way of thinking, but all in harmony together.”

— Alvar Aalto

I kind of started to think of the greenery as the thoughts escaping from the mind within. I had many artistic and creative thoughts that began to arouse within me considering the imagery.

  • “I like to think of thoughts as living blossoms borne by the human tree.”

— James Douglas

  • “In dwelling, live close to the ground. In thinking, keep to the simple. In conflict, be fair and generous. In governing, don’t try to control. In work, do what you enjoy. In family life, be completely present.”

— Lao Tzu

DSCN0330 (2).JPG

  • “Life consists in what a man is thinking of all day.”

— Ralph Waldo Emerson

  • “Most of one’s life is one prolonged effort to prevent oneself thinking.”

— Aldous Huxley

I started to figuratively think of the leaves as individual thoughts growing out of the fertile soil of the mind.

  • “Reading without reflecting is like eating without digesting.”

— Edmund Burke

  • “Take time to deliberate, but when the time for action has arrived, stop thinking and go in.”

— Napoleon Bonaparte

I found quotes that were more fitting than i expected which applied to the deeper meanings of the symbolism i found in these images.

PotHeads are deeper thinkers than one may realize when you look at the roots of discussion.

~ Trumpet of Växjö ~

One of my first photographic excursions here in Sweden took me to such lengths as across the street to find such sculpturific beauty. I tried my best to get the scale and size of how large this sculpture was.

DSCN0307.JPG

After showcasing the size i wanted to try my best to get the most accurate shot of the inside. I shot from within the horn and had to level my camera to show the opening at the other end which was over six feet or two meters long. The fact that the inside narrowed the farther out it went made this next shot even more difficult to capture.

DSCN0308.JPG

This trumpet shaped sculpture was difficult to shoot but it was cool. I have been meaning to ge back and get proper shots... but alas here we are, me publishing some of my earliest shots.

~ Kalmar Krunch ~

I thought after finally sharing the image above that these shots would be fitting to go along with them. I had so many shots i skipped from the Kalmar posts (since they were so long already) that i kept these for later.

DSCN0337 (2).JPG

From the front or back it looks like a normal Swedish boulder. But no, not this boulder...

DSCN0338 (2).JPG

I thought this carved groove right across the middle of this stone showed me the technology they were working with long, long ago. It also set itself up for my photo-op!

....some corkers here. And the photos serve them well!

You're an interesting individual and I'm glad I found you. People who think make the rest of us think a bit better as well. I'm sticking around.

I appreciate you stopping by and taking the time to comment.

Thank You

😆

Dude... if you send me gifs like that I'm totally gonna make it a regular habit.

Loved that. Tnx.

It is very nice to see you getting back at posting!! I missed it:) Especially after you mentioned you found it difficult to pick up the camera lately (in one of your last post) and even if you just call them "warm up shots" well I thing it is a great way to get into anything, ahaa because even if thinking is nice, overthinking also prevents the action (or the fruits as Ralph Waldo Emerson says:) to grow... Have a good day, I am looking forward of what you will come up with next:)

I totally agree. I tend to overthink and then definitely become a lot less effective/fruitful.

hahah yess that is true... was some busy times lately, but I am getting back to it now, giving my best:)

Sweet! Hopefully, it's been a good busy. I look forward to hearing/reading your next update. Have a great evening!

Exhausting but definitely good busy:)) Have a good day!

Interesting post. Love the head pot. And I love the quotes. I think quotes should be made mandatory in school. Get all the children to learn from the wisdom of the wise to get a better picture of life from an early age.

Quotes in school to learn would have been an awesome class to have and some amazing wisdom to draw from. That's a great idea. Glad you appreciated the quotes in the post and the shots as well. Cheers!

Yeah. Just imagine. We would all be a lot wiser, and the world would have been a better place. 😊
Cheers! Have a great weekend!

Salut je reviens de temps en temps mais en peux de temps tu a été très productif avec tout tes postes des 15 dernier jours. J'aime bien la pierre fendu en sont centre a ce demander comment il ont fait pour arriver a ce résultat. A bientôt

Wow. What a creative way to link pot and head. The thoughts with each image are so appropriate !! Loved the combination. Kudos

Interesting picture 😍 first one is the best for me 😊

Thank you! That was one of my favorites as well. I should have taken more shots that day. You should check out Taraz's post and share your thoughts. =) Cheers

crazy pot and love the big stone :D

That pot is cool and i really liked the stone and how you could see through it. Who knows how old that thing is?!

I bet it's quite old!

we have quite many of these big megalithic interesting rocks with slids and holes around the world.. :)

That's one thing i love about Europe. The age of even new things is super old. hahaha =)

europe has a lot of secrets.. :)

Very good metaphor: the one where you say that the plants sticking out are the thoughts of our being overflowing. I find it pleasing to see homemade photographs accompanied by little personal reflections on any area of life. Greetings! ☺♥

This is a unique and cute pot. I hope the plant on the head grows well. hi brother, happy weekend to you. Stay healthy.✌️

Hope you and yours have a great weekend too! Glad you enjoyed the post and i think that plant will grow just fine in there. Thanks!

With pleasure my brother.

Wow!!! Interesting art.

I love the Stone.

Great photos

Thanks for sharing with us.

Thanks for stopping by. I'm glad you liked the shots!

quotes are great, thanks for sharing :)

Glad you liked them. Thanks for stopping by!

This pot is magnificent maybe the plant will be it's thoughts, so make sure it's always thinking. I love the quotes that follows. Welcome back to photography ❤️❤️❤️💯💯

Thanks for stopping by and yes, i kind of think of the leaves as the thoughts. Hahaha Great minds think alike.

I agree very much with your statement. "He who does not think for himself does not think at all." And your thoughts are similar to mine. It's interesting. I'm glad to meet you.🤝🤝🤝🤝

Hey! I'm writing here a comment: sorry for the unfollow/follow. I wanted to add you on my favorite list (to not miss your future posts) and somehow I pressed the unfollow button. That was silly of me, I though that button will pop up with more options.
