On the last day of the Constitutional Convention, Ben Franklin was asked a question as he was leaving. "Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?" His reply? "A republic, if you can keep it."
If you can keep it. . . That is really being put to the test these days, which is why yesterday saw what was quite possibly the largest single day protest in US history.
No Kings 2.0 they called it, a nationwide day of protests building on the original No Kings back in June.
Thousands took to the streets of Louisville back in June to let any wannabe tyrants know they're not welcome here.
Yesterday saw at least that many if not more fill the Belvedere and take to the streets downtown.
More than 200 groups helped to organize the protests across the nation, and if the organizers turnout numbers are anywhere close to correct, something like two percent of nation was out protesting yesterday.
Here they gathered to hear from speakers before taking to the streets marching around downtown.
Haven't seen anything quite like it, the march filled the street for further than the eye could see.
Since the protests in June, the power grabs by the regime have only gotten more brazen and craven.
Which has only served to send more people out into the streets.
Seems the people intend to keep it.
