Just about ready

break.png

My wife and I got home from Mexico last night and now it is time to get ready for harvesting my Quad Grape plants.

The two oldest of the plants look to be about ready to go into the dark for 48 hours and I will probably put them in the dark tomorrow. These buds aren't as big as I was hoping they would be by harvest time, but the trichomes are looking like they are at their optimum.

Their trichomes are majority milky with some amber ones here and there. I really can't wait to harvest these and start curing them.

This is a balanced hybrid strain and I am looking forward to seeing how it compares to the more Indica dominant strains that I have been growing.

One thing is for sure with this strain is that it is super frosty. I probably wont trim too much of the sugar leaves back mainly because I plan on doing some infusions with oils and I use a Volcano vaporizer so I don't need to worry about some of the harshness from the leaves. There is just too many trichomes on these plants to waste when trimming.

I have no idea how much I am going to harvest once I get all of the plants trimmed and dried, but I have a full 4X4 tent of these plants, so I am hoping to get a decent amount so that I can experiment with this strain. With it being a more 50/50 balance, this should be a good strain for midday use.

Anyways, thanks for checking out my pictures of some of my plants. I am going to be pretty busy over the next two weeks with trimming all these buds up, but growing my own cannabis is way more fun that just going to a dispensary and buying it.

Just a beautiful plant! Quad grape is something I will run soon. Maybe next spring

I've got some pretty cool strains in the mail right now that I can't wait to grow

Beauties !

Thank you

Beautiful plant! They are just about ready!

Thank you. Just a bit longer.

That is awesome. I've been looking to put aside some space to grow something similar, too, but if it's indoors I'm not sure I'd be able to keep my cats out of it.

Thanks man. I know exactly what you mean about the cats. I have 5 of them and it is always hard to keep them out of my grow room. I think they are attracted to the smell. Or they just want to go where they aren't allowed to. You should definitely try and find some space to grow your own. It is much more fulfilling than buying it from a dispensary.

Love the closeups of the trichomes, they look milky and getting ready for harvest.

Those orange hairs too, looks like a great strain your growing. Hope to join you one day.

Thanks. I will be setting the first of the plants in the dark soon and then harvesting them. They are just about ready.

You put them in the dark to stress them out to produce more THC? If so do you ever put cuts in the stem when placing them in a dark room?

Their dark cycle is when they do the most growing. So when you put them in the dark for their last 48 hours, you force the plant to soak up as much of nutrients from the soil as they can. They usually get a decent pump on the buds as compared to just going straight to harvest. When I have done it, I see a lot of trichome production during that last 48 hours as well. I have never cut the stems prior to putting them in the dark though. In my opinion, it may be a bit too late for that type of stress.

Dam these really look fantastic

Thanks man. I can't wait to try it out and see if it lives up to the hype

The trichomes close up are crazy.
Looks amazing.
