RE: Breadscapes (Or Bread Landscapes)

Making art from food

Haha I have though of that too :)

One of my projects at the photography college was to shoot food in a very subtractive way so that they resemble to landscapes. I had even printed a couple of them on 2 meters canvas and submitted them for evaluation to some art critique!

The judge hated them and over the years I misplaced the prints and I don't know how did I manage to lose something so big but I did :)

Loved your breadscapes!

Those would have been stunning to still have around! The art judge sounds very judgmental. That is not cool.

Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!

I always forget the photographer, but he took photographs of food in strange lighting to emphasize the strangeness of everyday food. It really became art! (Ah, Edward Weston's photographs if you are interested.)

It's not the problem that he was judgmental, it is that he was very rude to a young student that couldn't respond on the same tone. Maybe that's why I still remember him :)

Anyway my pictures weren't that good and not even close to the level of Edward Weston, that Cabbage Leaf is a visual poem!

It is beautiful visual poetry right? Some people just have talents you cannot even think of mimicking.

Oh that is not nice. It is such a shame that people have to be like that sometimes. I can understand some critical remarks, but it never nice when it overwhelms so much.
