The proper way to cross a gorge is to go to the highest point and descend to the exit. But some people choose to go the other way around, meaning that they start from the bottom and move uphill. This is not unusual to Samaria gorge in Crete since it is a very long gorge (at least 5 hours to cross it) and the most famous part is at the end! So there are a lot of shirking hikers that avoid the hard descend from the entrance at the 1.250 meters (more than 4000 feet) altitude and enter from the sea level.
On the other hand the proper way to take pictures of a gorge is in color. The different layers of the ground that are exposed to the eye only inside a deep gorge, the running water or the indigenous flora, they all have amazing colors shouting for attention. And yet some weird photographers go the other way around and try to catch all that beauty in black and white!
In this post everything is wrong. The pictures are from the last part of the gorge and there are no colors at all. It is a scandal :)
Joke aside I think that the lack of color is kind of liberating in those pictures. I enjoyed watching landscape photos transformed into almost abstract patterns. And I like how the colorful details are disappearing letting the feeling of the scenery to come forward. But that's only my opinion. Let me know if you think differently.

-I agree with you on this. A photo truly comes with the photographer's eyes, and this one is beautiful. 😊
