Walking to nature

Hello everyone, I hope everything is going well for you. Today I'd like to share my visit to Kinabalu Park in Sabah with my friends.

My friend @bluekinabalu,@Tommyl33,@gideongys and I decided to photograph birds in the Kundasang area last Saturday. The weather was clear and sunny when we left Kinabalu City, but gloomy and foggy when we arrived in Kinabalu Park. The weather is rather cool for the Highlands.

When we arrived to Kinabalu Park, we were still looking for the best location to find and shoot birds in the Kinabalu Park area. We asked staff there to know the ins and outs and the proper place because we were all newbie and knew nothing. The staff was quite friendly and provided us some advice. Then the four of us decided to walk along the road to Timpohon Point, the starting point of the Kinabalu climb.

I'll share a little bit about the location where we went, Kinabalu Park. I got the information from the official Kinabalu Park website, and I've included a link to it.

Introduction

Kinabalu Park, a World Heritage Site covering an area of 754 square kilometres, was designated as a park in 1964.A report by the Royal Society Kinabalu Scientific expedition led by Prof. Corner in 1962-1964 created the basis for the establishment of a protected area in Kinabalu. It is the first park in the state of Sabah, Malaysian Borneo.

Mount Kinabalu (4,095.2 m), the highest mountain between the Himalayas and New Guinea, is its most prominent feature. Its slope is home to a diverse range of plant and animal life. It is a biodiversity hotspot, notably for plants, with connections to flora from the Himalayas, China, Australia, the Malay Peninsula, and the pan-tropical region.

The main entry point for visitors is the Park Headquarters located about 92 km on the Kota Kinabalu - east coast highway lying at an elevation 1,520m above sea levels. Cooler climates attracted over 250,000 visitors in 2009 with about 47,000 made the attempt to conquer the peak. The administrative center is located in the 'Conservation Center' building. Also in the same building is the Research and Education offices and facilities.

So far, I've been able to share some personal experiences and stories in this issue. Actually, I still have a lot and a long story to tell, but I can't because of time and other obligations. I hope to meet you again soon. Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Please accept my apologies for any grammatical or linguistic errors.
