Hey Militia, most certainly! software for editing i would checkout luma fusion, Adobe Premiere pro, final cut.
For gear I have two recommenations: Canon 80d
with a wide angle lens 11-16 as you can get wide shots like the image below but for videos.

The other issue I have rite now is I can't figure out how to sync my phone to my computer using the charge cord.. like you used to be able to haha.. it charges, but it dosnt connect lol.. than you for the suggestions!
