Turtles on a Log

I appreciate nature more today than I ever did when I was younger. I should get a pass, since I grew up in the streets of Brooklyn; where nature consisted very little of beauty; although the concrete jungle has it's own picturesque stories.

It's been about 15 plus years, since I moved out of New York. I had a house built in the Poconos when I first moved out and living in the mountains was just not my thing, especially after living in the city all my life; before that.

Two years living in Bushkill, Pennsylvania was way too long for me and I eventually moved to Central Florida; where I've been at for a while now. Admittedly, way too long up this way, but Florida will be where Tiffany and I will retire; just not Central Florida.

For now, there are many places here for photo opportunities.

Living in Kissimmee, Florida makes for an easy route to many destinations that millions come to all year long and it's just a hop and skip for us. We are near Disney, Universal Studios, Sea World. Minutes away from Orlando International Airport. We are a stones throw from Lake Nona, Hunters Creek, Saint Cloud. We are also not too far from Downtown Orlando. I mean, it's endless.

I've mentioned Lake Eola Park in a handful of my posts and because it's located in downtown Orlando, there are always homeless folks in the park; but it's where they find comfort and safety.

With that said, the park has so much awesome landscape to take walks through or do some running and of course dog walking and bike riding.

I personally like walking it with my ride or die Tiffany.

The photo I uploaded for this post is part of a handful of pictures in my iPhone10 camera roll, I have taken at Lake Eola and this one was rather cool; so I saved it for a rainy day and hence these turtles on the log made the cut for today.

There was no concrete jungle where I grew up, now to brag just a tiny bit, I live only minutes away from places like these:

That was a cool shot, as much I like the concrete beauty of cities at times, you cannot beat Nature in my heads.

Most definitely @tengolotodo

You are so very welcome, have a good one!

Hey @jimmy.adames thank you for this. I haven't heard of Lake Eola Park before. So will definitely take a look online and in person if I am ever in that area. As prefer natural locations to manmade parks always.

I was lucky to grow up by the beach and nature in a small town called Broadstairs in UK. And still need a daily 'fix' of nature. I'm in mexico at the moment and just came back from a jungle and beach walk with my doggies.

BTW love the photo!

All that sounds a lot more exhilarating than Central Florida, but it does have its moments.

Thank You for coming by 🙏🏼

The shell of the turtle on the right side looks like hematite.

The wonders of nature 🙏🏼

I agree, Jimmy. I think we take things like nature for granted when we are younger. As we get older we begin to appreciate the delicate balance of nature.

No question about it John.
