Light Side Of Life
Say goodbye to week 45 of the year and these are some visitors hanging around, some pose others grump I think they all know I won't give up!
Bloukoppie in the garden has actually settled in hardly moves so I had good reason to speak to him and ask for a close up photo, Southern Tree Agama simply stared me down with a grumpy look, see his big ears? He has good hearing, so perhaps he understood sit still and pose I won't bother you again..., till next time!
Another spot on Western side of garden another laid sunbathing on top of the plants, he too simply ignored me, well game on another photo with his gorgeous scaly tail hanging partially down the plant.
African hoopoe in my garden, now they have not visited in a couple of years, even given special treatment with the crest (crown) lifted, excitement at next level with not one....,
but two, cheerfully saying "hooo-pooo", that's why we simply call them the hoopoe bird!
Under midday sun middle of week 45 between the rain this little yellow bird simply popped out from the green to greet, superbly delightful I have yet to positively identify.
Keeping many birds away once again we have Cheeky (Pin-tailed whydah) doing a full display of crazy antics. Sitting on the feeder keeping a watchful eye gives me opportunity to capture him eye to eye, you can clearly see the under tail which is his normal body length, off-season when not mating.
Perched on high, proudly chasing every other bird closing into feed from little trumpet tree above the bird feeder.

Always admire how you have fun with your camera, great shots of the birds and lizards. Nice to have a garden that provides these beautiful friends to photograph.
Old grumpy has the bluest head in the garden, must make him the alpha male !LOLZ
He surely does look and act like an alpha. Make him!
Difficult call, there is one that enjoys the apex of the roof he is super sized as well flashing colour 🤓
The alpha males are making it hard for you to make a decision, it is cool when you have friends like these every day in your garden.

The lizard is a very beautiful color, so emerald and blue, cute. The pair of hoopoes is very cute, those feathers are like a mohawk on their heads. I'm interested in how the bird with the long tail in the last photo flies. For example, the magpie with its long tail flies slowly and heavily.
Cheeky flies fast and far chasing the ladies all day, he dives them from the tree then chases over the valley at speed, lucky the gals are quick 😂. By his persistence I guess he gets it right more often than not.
