The Tre Cime di Lavaredo is a true icon of the Dolomites and one of the must-sees on my list of places to see during a visit to these beautiful mountains.
The Three Sisters are three peaks located in the northeastern part of the Dolomites, on the border of South Tyrol and the province of Belluno in the Dolomiti di Sesto massif. The three peaks in question are Cima Grande (2999m), Cima Ovest (2973m), and Cima Piccola (2857m). About 20 km to the southwest lies one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Dolomites – Cortina d'Ampezzo. There are no hiking trails leading to the peaks themselves, and the only way to reach them is by mountaineering. However, you can bypass them on a pleasant and simple hiking trail that loops around these beautiful peaks. The trail is approximately 10km long and, depending on your pace and the number of stops, can be completed in 3-4 hours. It begins at the Rifiugio Auronzo mountain hut, which can be reached by car. There's a large parking lot here, and you reach it via a winding road, for which you must pay an entrance fee. The hut itself lies at an altitude of 2,333m above sea level. The trail's direction is flexible, and along the way you'll encounter another hut: Rifiugio Lavaredo. Trzy Siostry - czyli trzy szczyty leżące w północno-wschodniej części Dolomitów, na pograniczu Południowego Tyrolu i prowincji Belluno w masywie Dolomiti di Sesto. Trzy szczyty, o których mowa to Cima Grande (2999m n.p.m), Cima Ovest (2973m n.p.m) oraz Cima Piccola (2857m n.p.m). Około 20 km na południowy-zachód znajduje się jedna z najpopularniejszych miejscowości turystycznych Dolomitów - Cortina d'Ampezzo. Na same szczyty nie prowadzą żadne szlaki turystyczne, a jedynym sposobem ich zdobycia jest wspinaczka wysokogórska. Można je jednak obejść przyjemnym i prostym szlakiem turystycznym, który w formie pętli prowadzi dookoła tych pięknych szczytów. Szlak mierzy około 10km długości i w zależności od tępa i ilości przystanków można go przejść w 3-4 godziny. Rozpoczyna się przy schronisku Rifiugio Auronzo, do którego można dotrzeć samochodem. Znajduje się tutaj duży parking i docieramy tu kręta drogą, na którą za wjazd musimy zapłacić. Samo schronisko leży na wysokości 2333m n.p.m. Kierunek szlaku jest dowolny a po drodze trafiamy jeszcze na jedno schronisko - Rifiugio Lavaredo. (Informacje posiadam głownie z własnej analizy map w tym google maps i w niewielkim stopniu zostały uzupełnione/skorygowane z wykorzystaniem wikipedi)
The trail is incredibly scenic, and the beauty and majesty of the Dolomites are evident at every turn. I had a hard time resisting the urge to photograph everything I saw.
Szlak jest bardzo widokowy i na każdym kroku widzimy piękno i potęgę Dolomitów. Mnie ciężko było opanować chęć fotografowania wszystkiego, co widzę.
These mountains, their natural beauty, and their vastness, are unforgettable. I still long to return to these lands, and I think it's only a matter of time.
Te góry, ich naturalność i ogrom nie pozwalają o sobie zapomnieć. Wciąż mam w sobie chęć powrotu na te tereny i myślę, że to kwestia czasu.
The trail is strewn with rocks and stones, but the path itself is pleasant. The middle of the three photos above shows the Three Sisters, their southeast side (on the right), and in the distance the majestic Cadini di Misurina.
Szlak usłany jest kamieniami i skałami do około jednak sama ścieżka jest przyjemna. Na środkowym z powyższych trzech zdjęć widzimy Trzy Siostry, ich południowo-wschodnią część (po prawej), a w oddali majestatyczne Cadini di Misurina.
The next two shots show the peaks in their most recognizable form, their northern face. From this angle, the central Cima Grande, in particular, looks as if it had been neatly cut in half. On the left is the Cima Piccola, and on the right is the Cima Ovest.
Na kolejnych dwóch ujęciach szczyty w formie najbardziej rozpoznawalnej czyli ich północna ściana. Szczególnie środkowa Cima Grande wygląda z tej strony, jakby została równo przecięta na pół. Po lewej Cima Piccola, a po prawej Cima Ovest.
Just south of the Three Sisters, the terrain becomes more rugged and wild. Traces of human activity are limited mainly to the paths that mark this setting of the Tre Cime Natural Park.
Po przejściu właśnie na południe od Trzech Sióstr tereny stają się bardziej surowe i dzikie. Ślady ludzkiej działalności ograniczają się głównie do ścieżek wytrych w tej scenerii Parku Naturalnego Tre Cime.
It's worth experimenting with different perspectives when photographing here. You can find many interesting, unique shots. These peaks are heavily photographed, so you'll need to put in the effort to capture original images.
Warto tutaj trochę pokombinować z różnymi perspektywami przy fotografowaniu. Można znaleźć sporo ciekawych, nietuzinkowych kadrów. Szczyty te są bardzo mocno obfotografowane, więc trzeba się przyłożyć, żeby przywieźć stąd oryginalne zdjęcia.
Humans aren't the only creatures you'll encounter along this trail. These cows posed beautifully for photos!
Ludzie nie są jedynymi istotami żywymi jakie można spotkać na tym szlaku. Te krowy bardzo ładnie pozowały do zdjęć!
Soaring, jagged peaks are what I love most about mountain landscapes, and what delighted me when I saw the Cadini di Misurina mountain group, which I will write about in one of the next posts.
