Perceptions

Hello to all photography lovers!

Here in this post I would like to share with you some experimental exercise of mine. I placed images below in a tabular fashion. In each row, on the left is the output while on the right is the real scene. And below the images you can find some brief explanations how I achieved these.

This first one is supposed to look like an envolope. I played with contrast and exposure levels.

The original on the right is basically intersection of the floor, wall and couch's armrest part viewed from an angle.

I wanted to create some sort of Piranha fish on the second one. Big teeth, big eye and grunchy edit yielded a scary one, may not look like a Piranha though.

The materials I used were simply a napkin for the body, a scissor for the tail, a bottle cap and ear plug for the eye and finally a travel comb that can be folded. After the shot I had to reverse the colors during edit!

On the last one, I thought some sort of drama. the material I found was a box of mask from the pandemy times, and an artificial flower. There it was: the conceptual contrast awaits.

For this photo I used my compact camera, luckily it had a small flash and rear sync flash mode. So to make this blurry effect, I set the exposure around half of a second. Then seperated the objects little bit from each other. And just a little after pressing the shutter, I rotated my camera towards the flower. With the help of the flash and movement, I succeeded to get a double exposure of the man on the mask and the flower side by side.

I hope you enjoyed the ideas. And I hope this post provides an inspiration for those who seeks it.

All the best...
