Tropical Beach During Heavy Rain

The beach is a great place to relax, especially the one with sandy white beach and pristine water to swim at. I visited a place about 4 hours drive from my hometown in the hope that I can do a bit of snorkeling and swimming at the beach. Somehow, that vitamin sea was much needed but that idea was gone as soon as the rain poured over the area. It was not a drizzle but a heavy rain with strong wind that I even saw a coconut tree was falling down. The first picture is a floating house just before another heavy rain.

It was partly my fault that I didn’t check weather recommendations. At first, it threw me off that there’s absolutely nothing to do at the beach even if the camera wouldn’t capture something good but hey, I was totally wrong. Thanks to the landscape of the beach, surrounded by hills and fishermen’s boats on deck and floating houses, my camera was able to capture a mesmerizing somber look from the tropical beach.

As you can see below, my camera could only zoom it a bit because it was raining and the water got into the lense.I keep forgeting to buy lens protection especially during rain like that.

It was not easy getting these pictures. My mom only brought a small umbrella and I was only covering my body with mandala tapestry. We also had to walk through the rain through a muddy and slippery road against the strong wind. At some point, while taking the pictures nearby the trees. Our umbrella flipped, making us drenched wet. I had to cover the camera with my clothes to save it from water. But that was super fun! I really just found another way to enjoy the beach even when it’s raining. I’ll tell you more about this journey on my next adventure post. So, stay tuned if you enjoy reading my adventure!

These pictures you took are very pretty @macchiata! I love taking in those beach landscapes plus the heavy rain really set up the mood. The last one could pass as an album cover. The mist, the gradient sky, that melancholic reflection of what seems like a swing, they're everything. I'm guessing the flipped umbrella was worthwhile. 😄

hahaha now that I think about it, flipped umbrella was totally worth it🤣 I actually shoot that from different angles and that one is one of my most favorites. The difficult part was getting a clear shot because my camera was getting water droplets and if you really notice, some of above has that droplet "spots".

woww all that weather yet you still managed to shoot pretty ones. i wish i have that talent yk 😩 the last pic is my favorite too!

😅 I honestly just start taking photography seriously in less than a year. I still have so much to learn but thanks!

That's why I love your posts so much! it's so out of my reality! The photos are unique! A bit melancholic, but unfortunately so is the rain

It's the matter about seeing the rain as something fun rather than hating it while at the beach. I was that too but I said "fuck it, it was a long journey" and I didn't want to leave feeling disappointed, so that's why even when it rained, I still went taking pictures around.

the problem with me is that I have associated the exotic tropical places, only with sunshine and calm beaches, as advertised in tourist agencies!

😂 trust me, during months from Sept to February, it isn't always sunny. I wanted to go back there but according to weather prediction, impossible to find a sunny day.

Wow, the first picture looks like a cabin in the middle of a snowy field!

Have a great weekend Mac :-)

That's what my mom said too when I showed her the result. I was honestly still on land and did a bit zoom in and tried new things I learned which called "depth of field". Just for the reference, this was actually how far I was and also the trees

DSC08680.JPG

That's a fair distance! Depth of field is just the size of the opening in your lens and shutter speed is just the speed at which you open the gap. Photography is 90% about getting that combination correct depending on the subject.

I'm sure Mr D.Visions could explain in great detail of you asked him.

Either great shots. Seems like great minds think alike...me and your Mum :-)

wow such amazing scenes

Thank you so much @victorbz !

The weather can sometimes make things very difficult. I like such gloomy weather so the photos are great. Thank you so much for sharing them with us.

😃 I didn't due my homework, which is researching the weather. I should have done just like I did when visiting another island but this one, I thought it was going to be sunny and all that but well, I was wrong!

Nice shots amidst the heavy rain. Nature is always beautiful both in rainy and sunny days, we find ways to have fun and enjoy it.

Thanks alot for sharing.

That's true!

Your efforts are amazing. You've worked really hard to bring these awesome photos here.
People are not used to taking extraordinary moments as you did. You risk the risk you have to take to take pictures under the storm.

You really don't stand still, when things don't go your way. You managed to execute plan B immediately and your adaptability is also very good.

I mean, I came all the way just to have fun. So that didn't stop me to have fun😃

I really feel your struggle when the umbrella flipped but you need to captured some photos but it's an added memories on the beach that you can reminisce in the future 😊

😂 we definitely had a good laugh and was so thankful our umbrella didn't fly away. I lately had so much fun and laugh while traveling instead before when I was just traveling alone.

The vibe of weather, the beach seems so lonely as the heavy clouds cover it. But still I loved the other side of beach showcase how it seen aftermath of cloudy days, most of shares are Sunny and now new faces reveals. Love the shots.

😃 yeah it's not often people take shots during heavy rain and storms. But I realized, the beach looks great either way. This one was at a bay area and that's why the wave wasn't strong and actually still nice to be in the middle even during heavy rain. Thanks for checking out!
