Buenas noches amigos de esta maravillosa red social (HIVE), hoy quiero compartir con ustedes mis fotografías de la Catedral metropolitana de Santa Ana de Caracas, Venezuela conocida coloquialmente por los lugareños como la Catedral de Caracas, ubicada en la Av. Sur, frente a la muy conocida Plaza Bolívar del centro histórico de la ciudad caraqueña.
Good evening friends of this wonderful social network (HIVE), today I want to share with you my photographs of the Metropolitan Cathedral of Santa Ana de Caracas, Venezuela known colloquially by the locals as the Cathedral of Caracas, located on Av. Sur, in front of the well-known Plaza Bolívar of the historic center of the city of Caracas.
El diseño arquitectónico de este templo, se caracteriza por una planta de tipo basílica constituida por cinco naves, una nave central y dos naves menores por cada lado. La torre del campanario cuenta de 4 cuerpos estructurales construida de sección cuadrada.
The architectural design of this temple is characterized by a basilica-like plan consisting of five naves, a central nave and two smaller naves on each side. The bell tower has 4 structural bodies built of square section.
Naves estructurales del templo religioso.
La nave central está separada de las naves laterales por columnas diseñadas y construidas por sección ochavada con capitel compuesto, las mismas soporta estructuras arcadas de medio punto. Al fondo de la nave central podemos apreciar el altar mayor y el retablo mayor, estos están dentro del presbíterio.
Structural naves of the religious temple.
The central nave is separated from the side naves by columns designed and built by ochavada section with composite capital, they support semicircular arcade structures. At the back of the central nave we can see the main altar and the main altarpiece, these are inside the presbytery.
El templo religioso se compone de elementos neoclásico con sus fachadas estructurales rodeadas por 4 calles. Durante la visita pude escuchar las campanadas de la catedral sonadas desde la torre, indicando así la hora. Desde esta misma torre del campanario emiten sonidos de distintas canciones.
The religious temple is composed of neoclassical elements with its structural facades surrounded by 4 streets. During the visit I could hear the bells of the cathedral sounding from the tower, thus indicating the time. From this same bell tower they emit sounds of different songs.
Para finalizar debo aclarar que el diseño estructural del templo es de estilo románica, simple pero con un gran patrimonio histórico, esto se debe a qué en esta catedral se vivió un suceso preindependentista ocurrido el 19 de abril de 1810, donde el pueblo caraqueño hace renunciar al aquel entonces Gobernador y Capitán General Vicente Emparan.
To finish I must clarify that the structural design of the temple is romanesque style, simple but with a great historical heritage, this is because in this cathedral there was a pre-independence event that occurred on April 19, 1810, where the people of Caracas made the then Governor and Captain General Vicente Emparan resign.
