The tower of the K116 hill doubles as a viewing tower in the summer months. I bought a ticket from a kiosk below it. The price was €8 per adult and I hesitated for a second but decided to give you the views anyway and because that was the plan.

A view to the east. This is the center of the city of Lahti, population about 120,000. The center is quite compact as it is sandwiched between the esker in the south and the west and another large hill in the east. Lake Vesijärvi is not too far from the northern edge of the center of the city.

A view to the south. The district of Laune on the southern side of the railway.

This is the stadium. Below the large hill there is a public swimming pool open in the summer months.

The district of Ankkuri and the harbor in the east-northeast. The harbor is not very busy before noon.

The district of Niemi to the northeast of it. That large building is a malting house.

The inside of the tower is nice. You could hold a meeting there. There were a couple of tables there.

The market square is between the buildings on the lower center right to the right of the church tower (the gray concrete tower).

This massive grain silo belongs to Fazer. There is a very large bakery in the building adjacent to it.

The southern side of the city looks mostly like this. Covered by all the greenery within city limits, there are single family houses.

The pool looks tempting. It is open and there are swimmers in it. It was about 10 am and the temperature was only 20 C. It's 24 C now.

This is where the referees sit during ski jumping competitions.

There is a skiing museum and a restaurant in the building.
