Ich möchte diese besondere Art der Photographie, die ich auch gern beim Lightpainting benutze, heute etwas näher beschreiben. Um solche Bilder zu erstellen, benötigt man ein Camera Rotation Tool, welches auf einem Stativ angebracht wird. Darauf befestigt man die Kamera, diese kann man dann um 360 Grad drehen. Man kann entweder frei oder in Schritten (steps) drehen. Die Lichtspuren, die z.B dann in der Nachtfotographie oder beim Lightpainten entstehen sehen dann unterschiedlich aus. In meinen Bildern benutze meist die schrittweise Belichtung und Drehung der Kamera.
Today I would like to describe this special kind of photography, which I also like to use for light painting. To create such pictures, you need a camera rotation tool, which is mounted on a tripod. You attach the camera to it and you can rotate the camera 360 degrees. You can either rotate it freely or in steps. The look of the light traces which are created with camera rotation, depend on the kind of rotation. I usually use the step-by-step exposure and rotation of the camera.

Um diese schrittweisen Bilder zu erzeugen, decke ich das Objektiv der Kamera während der Belichtung lichtdicht ab und drehe die Kamera auf dem Tool in eine andere Position. So kann man ein Bild z.B. auch spiegeln, wenn man die Kamera um 90 Grad dreht. Wichtig ist es, das Toll so auszurichten, dass man die Kamera um die Bildmitte dreht, sonst kommt es zu Verzerrungen und das Bild wird nicht symmetrisch. Allerdings kann man auch wieder damit spielen. Deckt man die Kamera während der Belichtung und Bewegung nicht ab, bekommt man zusammenhängende Lichtspuren, leider habe ich dazu kein schönes Photo.
To create these step-by-step images, I cover the camera lens light-proof during the exposure and turn the camera on the tool to a different position. This way you can also mirror an image, if you turn the camera 90 degrees. It is important to align the tool in such a way that you rotate the camera around the centre of the picture. Otherwise there will be distortions and the picture will not be symmetrical. However, you can play with it again. If you don't cover the camera during the exposure and movement, you create continuous light traces. Unfortunately I don't have a nice photo for this.
Plumplori / Model: Plumplori (Erik), Kamera: Sven, Light : Marla
Das erste Bild ist genau genommen eine Nachtaufnahme der Oberbaumbrücke. Ich habe die Kamera bei vorhandenem Licht in einer Belichtung in acht Schritten gedreht und während der Bewegung abgedeckt. Heraus kam das schöne Blümchen. Die anderen Bilder sind Lightpaintings, d.h ich habe nicht vorhandenes Licht genutzt, sondern das Licht selbst ins Bild gebracht. Das zweite Bild ist in einer Papierfabrik entstanden. Die Kamera wurde um die eigene Achse in acht Schritten gedreht, in der Bewegung wurde wieder abgedeckt. Mein Model beleuchtete ich von hinten mit einem roten Scheinwerfer und von vorn gab es noch blaues Licht. In jedem Schritt änderte mein Model die Pose.
Strictly speaking, the first picture is a night shot of the Oberbaumbrücke. I turned the camera in one exposure in eight steps while using available light and covered the lens during the movement. The result was a beautiful little flower. The other pictures are light paintings, i.e. I did not use existing light but brought the light itself into the picture. The second picture was taken in a paper factory. The camera was rotated around its own axis in eight steps and covered during the movement. I illuminated my model from behind with a red spotlight and from the front with blue light. In each step my model changed his pose.
Rotkäppchen/ Models: Julia, Felix und Plumplori Camera: Sven, light: Marla
Der Plumplori entstand in einem alten Kloster. Erik und ich alberten herum und so entstand dieses Bild in vier Belichtungsschritten. Das Rotkäppchenbild hätte überall entstehen können, entstand aber tatsächlich im Wald. Hier habe ich die Models bei jedem Belichtungsschritt eingescannt. Irgendwie hat sich dann ein Plumplori ins Bild geschlichen. Ich wußte gar nicht, dass es die in Deutschland in freier Wildbahn gibt.
The Plumplori was taken in an old monastery. Erik and I were fooling around and so this picture was taken in four exposure steps. The Little Red Riding Hood picture could have been taken anywhere, but it was actually taken in the forest. Here I scanned the models at every exposure step. Somehow a Plumplori crept into the picture. I didn't know that they existed in the wild of Germany.

Den Schädel für das letzte Bild fanden wir bei einem Waldspaziergang. Prompt hatte ich diese Bildidee. Ein Bild eines Fuchses wurde im Camerarotationverfahren acht Mal belichtet, dann setzte ich die Kamera abgedeckt auf ein zweites, auf den Fuchsschädel ausgerichtetes Stativ und belichtete ein neuntes Mal. Man kann also diese Technik sowohl für abstrakte, als auch für gegenständliche Photos verwenden. Über Kommentare und hinweise freue ich mich wie immer.
We found the skull for the last picture during a walk in the woods. I promptly had this idea for the picture. A picture of a fox was exposed eight times using the camera rotation technique. I placed the camera covered on a second tripod aligned with the fox skull and exposed a ninth time. You can use this technique for abstract as well as for representational photos. Sehr interessant, tolle Bilder und echt gut beschrieben! Da ich Amateurfotograf bin, ist das durchaus inspirierend für mich. Was kostet denn so ein Tool? Ein Stativ habe ich.
Gimbal heads oder Camera Rotations Tolls gibt es schon ab knapp über 200€. Am besten Du schaust im Laden, welcher für Deine Zwecke passend ist.
