Greetings, friends, how are you doing?
Bird photography is undoubtedly one of the things I am most passionate about. I don't know if it's because I discover new elements in nature, because of its complexity, or perhaps because of something spiritual, but the fact is that every time I have the opportunity, I go to the nearest tree and let my passion begin.
This time, I did a photo shoot with one of the most beautiful species in my opinion, due to its tiny size and apparent fragility, but don't be fooled, because these birds cross the American continent to reach the Caribbean to spend the winter, what a journey!
Their name in Spanish is Rabuita (Polioptila caerulea).
And as you can imagine, taking pictures of them is quite a challenge because they don't stay still for a second.
They are extremely territorial, though. While they are feeding on insects on the leaves of the trees, it is the best opportunity to photograph them. They are apparently entertained, but they don't take their eyes off you.
I told you they are very small, so I like to play with the environment, contextualizing the bird to show how tiny they are.
They will be in Cuba until the end of April or May, when they will leave again for North America to breed, until they return to the Caribbean in November, where I will be waiting to continue taking pictures of them.

Saludos, amigos, ¿cómo les va?
La fotografía de aves es sin lugar a dudas de aquellas cosas que más me apasionan, no sé si por el hecho de descubrir elementos nuevos en la naturaleza, por su complejidad o tal vez por algo espiritual; el caso es que cada vez que tengo la oportunidad voy al árbol más cercano y que comience la pasión.
En esta oportunidad le hice una sesión a una de las especies más bellas a mi entender, por su diminuto tamaño y aparente fragilidad, pero no se dejen engañar, porque estas aves cruzan el continente americano hasta llegar al Caribe para pasar el invierno. ¡Tremendo recorrido!
Su nombre en español es Rabuita (Polioptila caerulea).
Y, como se podrán imaginar, hacerles foto es todo un desafío porque no se están quietas ni un segundo.
Extremadamente territoriales, eso sí.
Mientras se están alimentando de insectos en las hojas de los árboles, es la mejor oportunidad para fotografiar; están aparentemente entretenidas, aunque no te quitan el ojo de encima.
Les decía que son bien pequeñas, por eso me gusta jugar con el entorno, contextualizar al ave para que se vea lo diminuta que son.
Estarán en Cuba hasta finales de abril o mayo; de ahí partirán nuevamente a Norteamérica para reproducirse, hasta que en noviembre nuevamente vienen al caribe, y alli estaré esperando para seguir haciéndoles fotos.
