Hello friends, today we are going to visit the wonderful seaside town of Gelibolu! The town is located not far from the larger historical town of Chanakkale (we will soon visit this town too). It's not so crowded now in the winter time, but in the summer it's a real resort. All the cafes and restaurants are open until late at night, and people are having fun and relaxing. Winter is a special time of year for Gelibolu. Calm and quiet are the best words to describe the atmosphere here.
I am very keen on the sea. Therefore, the first place we visited here is the sea. Blue waves with white foam, the cry of seagulls over the sea, the salty sea wind - what could be better? I am very glad that we had the opportunity to leave Istanbul for a couple of days and relax our bodies and souls in nature and near the sea. I love Istanbul very much, but sometimes I want to get away from the noisy metropolis and enjoy the silence of nature.
Walking along the shore and looking at everything you see under your feet is one of my hobbies. Thus, I found many beautiful shells and added them to my collection.
Today the seaside was completely empty, which is not usual at all. Since in summer big families rest here, eat juicy watermelon and drink cold sodas. The laughing of children splashing in the water can be heard far beyond the beach. Summer is already 4 months away and I want to come here again soon. In the meantime, we walk along the sandy shore and enjoy the fresh sea air.
Last summer when we came here, I collected different beautiful pebbles to bring back to Istanbul. Last year we had a small aquarium and I wanted to decorate it with these beautiful pebbles from Gelibolu. It turned out very beautifully.
We were very lucky that the weather was warm enough for January. The sky was blue and slightly cloudy and the wind was light and pleasant. We spent about an hour here on the beach. Taking photos, breathing the marine air and observing the beauty of nature. This is a special place for Eren - his childhood passed here and therefore, he feels the safest and calmest here. He told me many interesting stories about this town.
And here is my first find. Nature creates amazing things! Every time I find big beautiful shells, I am happy like a child. In Ukraine, in the city where I was born and grew up, there was no sea, so my reaction is like that when I find shells as an adult.
The sea was calm and quiet. We enjoyed the beautiful views that surrounded us. Usually in the summer, there are local dogs resting on this bridge. But it's cold right now.
Generally, in summer, there is so much water that this rocky shore is completely covered with water. But now, in winter, there is little water and we can observe such interesting scenery. It's just sea grass and rocks, but how beautiful it looks!
