Now who is the most dangerous of the "Big 5" animals in Africa?
The Big 5 animals in Africa consist of the Elephant, Rhinoceros, Cape Buffalo, African Lion and the African Leopard.
The surprise answer to the question of who is the most dangerous is the Cape Buffalo. They reckon that even the lions fear the cape buffalo. Now I don't have the heart to show you a youtube video here, but if you Google "Cape Buffalo fighting lion" then you will see what a buffalo can do to a lion.
I don't know why they have not also included the Hippopotamus, to make it the "Big 6", as hippos are also very dangerous, as is the African crocodile and a few others.
First up, I will show you some Cape Buffalos on a farm.
All peaceful and grazing with their youngsters.
Some breeds of cattle one can touch.
Here below my hand beckoned a Nguni cow.
A very wet nose, almost like a wet kiss:)
Then it was my wife's turn to greet the Nguni.
Love at first sight.
Finally, the Brahmans were too far away to touch.
The youngster was licking the mom's eye.
Now have a look at this brahman, egret bird friendship.
I think that the egret asked the brahman to keep an eye out, while the egret was cleaning itself.

I took these photos on the same day at three different farms and there are many other cattle varieties on other farms in our area. Last year for instance, I posted some cattle with horns that were almost the same length as the cattle's length, and I forget the specie name now. But in any case, I will continue to post the different kinds of cattle that I find on the farms. We are planning a trip soon on a short break, during the new spring season, to an area that we have not visited before, and I hope to bring you a myriad of new sightings.

Those Nguni are truly beautiful. One of my last memories of my life in iMfolozi Game Reserve was a very close encounter with two juvenile buffalo males. Rather terrifying
I agree and great to see that they are building the Nguni herds up again. Well, you are lucky that you are alive to speak about it now, as Cape Buffalos are very dangerous. Maybe you should relate the incident in a post, as the more people that know about the danger, the better. No human should ever try to tango with a buffalo.
