The clouds are washing the mountains in preparation for the New Year party.
Remember that I showed you the sea mist hiding the mountains about two days ago?

The mist played a major role in what you will see here, as it wet the land.
The scientists have it that when the winds blow moist air from the land up on the mountains, it connects with the warm air above the mountains, then clouds are formed on the mountain peaks. The clouds must be above sea level and our mountain range suits the conditions very well. So well that huge clouds are formed on the mountain peaks, and they drift slowly down to the earth again.
The land below our mountains was very moist due to the winds blowing masses of sea mist over the land a few days ago, and as the sea mist settled, the hot sun reappeared, and the wind blew the cold moist water up and over the mountain. As it collided with the hot air above, it forms crystals that turns into clouds that sit on the mountain tops. The clouds grow bigger and heavier, so they start to tumble down over the mountain.
I hope that I've got this right, as I don't want to include a scientific site's explanation.
It sounds logical to me, and below you will see a series of photos to prove this process of cloud formation.
There were no other clouds in the sky, so the wind, aided by the moist air from the land, decided to form their own clouds :)
This view below looks very mysterious, as just look at that pyramid shape at the bottom of the mountain.
Slowly the views were turning a golden color, as the sun was on its way down.
And finally, it was time for us to return home.
Christmas is done and now the new year looms. What will it bring this time round I wonder? But, like all of the past years we will also endure the new one, provided that we learned some lessons from the past year. I know that I have and the biggest one that I learned is to be careful with trust. I am a very trusting soul, and even though I have been caught in some unpleasantries before, it is not in my nature to wear revenge, or regrets like old cloths in my mind.
Life is too short to bother oneself with negative thoughts, and there is so much else that is much more positive that requires my attention. Needy souls are one of my priorities, and by helping them, I am in fact also helping myself, as I also had a very difficult childhood. So, I know how it feels to be constantly rejected by the haves. Not that it matters as I have reached many great peaks in my life and it's enough to keep me balanced. I am tall enough for the winds to form clouds of forgiveness above my head just like they do for the mountains.
Such is life.

Clouds don't need mountains to show up with their beauty, as they can do that anywhere, and it's great to see that you guys can also get some spectacular views.

Now that's when the magic of nature happens, as the mist wets the land and one or two days later, the blazing sun allows a strong wind to blow the damp off the land up the mountain, so that the mountain can form its own clouds when the cold damp air meets the hot atmosphere above the mountain peaks. Amazing to watch!

Apt description, went down that pass a couple of times by car and train, each experience was different.
Outeniqua pass is great, but Swartberg pass in the other direction takes the cake.

The clouds hugging the mountains, what a cool show...and your reflection too. I wouldn't worry about others, I would worry about myself. It's not that you stop trusting, it's that you listen to your heart and intuition that always give signals. And forgive, this is very necessary because being at peace with yourself is priceless. The cloud took over the mountain and one could barely know that there's a mountain over there, it is as though the cloud was just trying to touch the ground. The photos are so beautiful
