My children are far away, and my wife took me for a treat on their behalf.
What a name? Tiger's Milk and it sounded strange until we got inside.
This restaurant was recently opened up in the Westen Cape Province of South Africa and for the elderly fathers, (and the young fathers), it was a revelation of the times gone by. There was even a photo on the wall with my birth year date. But without giving too much away here, let me show you what is inside.
Let me tell you that I was transponded back in time.
Come and see.
Do you remember the famous Sonny and Cher?
This is the main entrance.
Inside the lobby and a strange skull that you can see there.
Here is a closer look at that skull.
We were led up to the first floor at our request.
And this was the only unoccupied little space in the restaurant, but it suited us fine as we were out of the crowd.
I had the "Smash That Chicken" burger and my wife had a "Borderline" burger.
A big Nguni bull head on the wall, with a message next to him that means "Sieze the night".
This looked like Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones in his young days.
There were a few of these old advertisements in a passage.
This is the picture with my birth year date on it.
That glass door at the back drew my interest, as it leads out onto the balcony. So, I made my way over.
From the balcony, I could only see this start of a rainbow, but sadly it didn't continue across the sky.
However, I saw this lovely v-shape of the flying Sacred Ibis birds.
And finally, after a nice meal we were out of there.
Not often that we eat out, but my wife insisted as it was Father's day and I don't know if she arranged this with my children on the phone. However, I was pleased, not only with the food, but also with the memory lane. In fact, I felt right at home in the atmosphere as it was calm and friendly.
We had wild years in my youth, and the music artists were very inventive. Rock music was at the top of the class, and freedom was the motive. People like Bob Dylan, and Slow-hand Eric Clapton, were in their 20's and a wide range of song writers kept on pumping the great music out. Many of these songs are still popular nowadays. There were too many bands and artists to mention, but it was a great time to be had by all.
So, I thank my wife and my children for this great occasion.

We had a whole school destroyed by the floods over here and all of the children were placed at our partner Non Profit, Imibala. So now Imibala supplies the food and Papillon supplies the fruit.
Then Papillon is also gearing up for Mandela Day in partnership with Imibala at the False Bay primary school. But this one will be different, as we want to teach the children to help others, so we will supply the children with food packs that they must take out and give to the poor families in their community.
Exiting days ahead.

I had a motorbike those days and as I looked at some of the photos, I could feel the wind in my long hair again, It was a very carefree stage in my life. You are right, as my heart is only 16 years old 😊
