Hey there my Hive friends and followers!
Long time no see - again, sorry about that! The last year was super hectic for me as I had to deal with a variety of different challenges and I was so looking forward to a holiday that we planned for Christmas but unfortunately, we all got sick so we had to put it off and it was not until the end of January that we could finally go. Where to? Well, to Kenya! :)
Florecita is already 2 years old, a big girl already, so handling an 11-hour flight was not a big deal for her (just kidding – we adjusted her sleep schedule prior to the flight so that she would sleep through most of it, which she fortunately did). We stayed at Diani Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in all of Africa and we had so much fun in there!
We also explored the surroundings and even managed a little safari trip to the nearby Shimba Hills National Reserve where we saw a lot of zebras, antelopes, warthogs, monkeys and other cool animals. The guide (who was also the private driver of our jeep) said we might see some elephants and buffaloes too but no luck with those two :/
You know, back in our nomadic days, we spent a lot of time in Central and South America so being surrounded by exotic wildlife was something that we were perfectly used to (and that we enjoyed so much) but hey, this was our very first African safari and we just loved it!
In fact, it was this amazing combination of fine beaches and spectacular wildlife that I found so fascinating about Kenya. You are chilling on the super soft white sand, looking at the crystal clear turquoise waters of the year-round warm Indian Ocean and then you just hop on a jeep and in less than an hour, you can watch wild elephants wandering around your car. Crazy - but so beautiful! :)
After visiting Zanzibar (Tanzania) and Mauritius before, this was our third trip to Africa but we already know that we will come for more. This continent is a breathtaking part of the world and I cannot wait to come back. Here is a few random pictures from our trip to Kenya. Enjoy!

That looks like a mighty fine beer! Also looks like a beautiful area! Things have been crazy all around I think. My holiday was less than optimal and I am still trying to get back to normal after all of that.
Hey @bozz! Well, coming from a beer superpower called Czechia, we are used to pretty high standards when it comes to beer but this one (Tusker :D) was actually ok. I even bought a T shirt with the Tusker logo on it, looks pretty cool :) Sorry to hear about your "less than optimal holiday" :( What happened?
I got sick and spent most of it laying in bed looking at the ceiling or in the bathroom!
Now that sucks! So sorry to hear that man :( That´s one of my worst fears when it comes to these short holidays - spending most of it... like that :/
Yeah, it was horrible. My wife got to go and do all the fun stuff with her family and I missed it all!

No je fakt, že slečna byla už v jednom roce dál, než se většina jejích krajanů podívá za celý život :D Jsme rádi, že ji cestování baví ;) Snad to nebyl poslední článek z tohoto afrického výletu. Uvidíme.
Pokud nepočítám občasné překročení hranice s Polskem, tak nejdál jsem byl v Bulharsku a ve Vídni :-). Vaše slečna má přede mnou velký náskok a zdá se, že ho bude navyšovat :-D
A mimochodem. Jestli není čas a chuť na delší článek, můžeš to zase dávat do SNAPS
No vidíš a přitom máš dost možná naježděno víc než já nalítáno, akorát máme každý jinak velké "teritorium" :D
Dobrý nápad, šoupnu zas něco aspoň do Snaps ;)
V podstatě nevytáhnu paty z domova :-)

No, nakonec rovníkovou Afriku porazil severoamerický sníh a mráz :D Výlet to byl super, to máš pravdu. A i ten Tusker byl překvapivě pitelný ;)

Thanks mate! Funny that you mentioned the weather because after coming back home, we literally didn´t see the sun for two weeks! The contrast couldn´t be starker. Oh man how much I miss spending the winters in the tropics :/ Hope it´s already warmer and sunnier in your place.
