The day before yesterday afternoon, while I was working at the computer, it started to rain very hard and quite windy, something a bit unusual for this time of the year since here in Venezuela we are still in the middle of summer, that is to say, in the dry season. As the electricity was out for more than an hour, I went out to the balcony to contemplate the deluge, I was really glad because there have been many fires and the atmosphere has been opaque because of that, so this water was a tremendous relief, the earth needed to drink!
Antier en la tarde, mientras trabajaba en la computadora comenzó a llover muy fuerte y con bastante viento, algo un poco inusual en esta época ya que aquí en Venezuela aún estamos en pleno verano, es decir, en la temporada de sequía. Como se fue la electricidad por más de una hora, salí al balcón a contemplar el diluvio, la verdad me alegré porque ha habido muchos incendios y la atmósfera ha estado opaca por eso, así que esta agua fue tremendo alivio, ¡la tierra necesitaba beber!

When you go up a mountain, the whole landscape becomes more dramatic, if from far away the hills look dry, when you are there it is much worse.

Look at what we encountered on one occasion, fortunately the fires were not near us, but the smoke reached us along with a hot wind in the midday swelter.

Si, parece un escenario apocalíptico 😬, los cerros de mi zona se incendian mucho, este año ha estado peor y había pensado por que no harán una campaña de deforestacion, me alegro saber que se áctivo algo.
Ayer estuvo nublado donde vivo pero no llovió, los incendios de mis cerros cercanos se producen por la cantidad de eucaliptos que hay, esa planta tanto sus hojas como la corteza del árbol son inflamables y el mínimo calor las prende.
He leído de vez en cuando que hacen reforestación en algunos lugares, pero sí me parece que debe ser más frecuente, masivo.
Oye sí, los eucaliptos y los pinos también son inflamables, esperemos que las autoridades puedan minimizar los daños, ¡saludos! :)
