In the third part of my personal project, which tries to capture the Prague Metro system, we will look at the Chodov station. But before we look at the photos. I will write you something about the history of the station. The stop was opened like the previous two on 7/11/1980 under the name Budovatelů and later changed to Chodov. At the time of its opening, it stood in the middle of fields and served as a bus terminus.
Ve třetím dílu mého osobního projektu, který se snaží zachytit systém Pražského metra se podíváme do stanice Chodov. Ale než se podíváme na fotografie. Napíšu Vám něco k historii stanice. Zastávka byla otevřena jako dvě předchozí 7.11.1980 pod názvem Budovatelů a později změněna na Chodov. V době svého otevření stála uprostřed polí a sloužila jako konečná stanice autobusů.
The station is also excavated like the previous two and lies 10 meters below the surface. The wall cladding consists of ceramic tiles in the shape of concave and convex half-cylinders. The surface of the platform is made from granite mined near village Hudčice. Architects Jiří Dušek and Jan Marek participated in the project.
Stanice je opět hloubená a leží 10 metrů pod povrchem. Obklad stěn tvoří keramika ve tvaru vydutých a vypuklých půlválců. Povrch nástupiště je z Hudčické žuly. Na projektu se podíleli architekti Jiří Dušek a Jan Marek.
Currently, the station is one of the busiest because a housing estate was built in the vicinity in the late 1980s. Later in the 1990s, a large Růže (Rose) shopping center was added. And at the turn of the millennium, an even larger shopping center was built, which is the largest in the Czech Republic.
V současné době je stanice jedna z nejvytíženějších protože v okolí bylo koncem 80.let 20. století postaveno sídliště. Později v 90. letech přibylo velké obchodní centrum Růže. A na přelomu tisíciletí bylo postaveno ještě větší nákupní centrum, které je největší v ČR.
Near one of the exits is a statue called Budovatel (The Builder) by the sculptor František Radvan. What I like about this statue is how the artist was able to capture the dirt on the clothing.
Nedaleko jednoho z východů je socha, která nese název Budovatel od sochaře Františka Radvana. Na této soše se mi líbí, jak autor dokázal zachytit nečistoty na oděvu.
Chodov is one of the first stations where the new infographic for Prague public transport is used. Which is supposed to improve and simplify movement in city public transport. From my point of view, the combination of black and red didn't work very well. Because I personally know several people who have a problem with color shades. The same is the case with the new coloring of the surface transport. Where gray and red were chosen, which are easily lost in the gloom.
Chodov je jedna z prvních stanice kde je použita nová infografika pro Pražskou MHD. Která má zlepšit a zjednodušit pohyb v městské hromadné dopravě. Z mého pohledu se zrovna kombinace černé a červené moc dobře nepovedla. Protože osobně znám několik lidí co mají problém s odstíny barev. Podobně je tomu i u nového zbarvení povrchových prostředků. Kde byla zvolena šedá a červená, která se za šera dobře ztratí.
And that's all for today's episode. There weren't a lot of photos, because the station is quite dark, full of people and overall. From my point of view, not very interesting at all. Next time we will look at Roztyly station.
A to je z dnešního dílu vše. Fotografií nebylo zrovna hodně, protože stanice je dosti temná, plná lidí a celkově z mého pohledu ne extra zajímavá. Příště se podíváme do stanice Roztyly.
