Beetle visting my cacti flowers

Seems like the insects and hummingbirds are coming through and visiting these flowers. Recently I saw a beetle going into the flowers and feeding on the pollen from what I could tell. Not sure what kind it is, but was quite the sight to see it just walking all around inside the flower.

It is pretty camouflaged, as its close to the same color as the flower.

It did not seem to mind me there, just went about its business.

Visiting another found I found a different beetle. This time resting or just sitting inside the flower.

It eventually got up and went walking around.

Cool to see them climbing into the flowers like that. Most of what visits these flowers is flying, a bee or fly or a hummingbird. So cool to see ground based bugs also visiting them. Hope the spines did not get in its way too much.

Seems it was mostly after the pollen, I think the nectar is in the center.

Hopefully its a happy bug with whatever it got from the flower.

A delightful flower feast, hopefully the beetle is satisfied with the flower feast.

Good afternoon, dear friend @solominer

What beautiful flowers! No wonder the beetle is attracted to them. A magnificent pollen feast.

Beautiful shots! I appreciate you sharing them with us.

Have a great day.

Thanks, I am glad that beetle came around for me to get some good shots of it.

Hope you have a great day too.

Loving those shots

So cool. Beetles are actually pretty important pollinators too, even though they don't get as much credit as bees. Nature's amazing when you really pay attention to it

That is so true, happy to have them come along and visit my flowers.

I like how the beetle looks so comfy just chilling in there. Never really thought about how ground bugs have to navigate all those spines to get to the good stuff.

Great shots! I need to get into a bit more macro stuff.

Thanks, yeah its a lot of fun. I am glad I have my lens.

That's a beetle?

Dunno why I envisioned most of em to be hard shelled.

Yeah I think so, not really sure.. lots of them look different.

The color of the cacti flower is beautiful and bright so it tends to attract all kinds of insects. This is a great shot by the way.

All your photos are very beautiful and the best quality. I have never seen such pictures before. I really like the pictures you have taken.

Each of the photographs is appreciated and enjoyed without a doubt!

Indeed, it was quite the sight.

I hope the flower bug will not harm the flower like japanese beetles that cause the petals to rot. Thank you for sharing and Happy Friday!

Yeah true, I was worried about that at first, but it seems like so far they only want the pollen.

hehe, insect was just chillin.. strolling around in that flower.. 😉

hehe it sure was.
