What would Chicago be without its unique elevated rail tracks, on which the Chicago Transit Authority trains whizz through the canyons of skyscrapers? Of the many CTA stations I visited, I liked "Quincy" by far the most. The station was opened in 1897 and has hardly changed over the course of more than a century. The antique look of wood and metal makes you feel like you've stepped back in time.
Was wäre Chicago ohne seine einzigartigen Hochbahntrassen, auf denen die Züge der Chicago Transit Authority durch die Hochhausschluchten zischen? Von den vielen CTA-Stationen, die ich besucht habe, hat mir "Quincy" mit Abstand am besten gefallen. Die Station wurde bereits im Jahre 1897 eröffnet und um Laufe über eines Jahrhunderts kaum verändert. Man fühlt sich hier durch den antiken Look aus Holz und Metall in eine längst vergangene Zeiten zurückversetzt.

The second photo shows a street scene. I took it almost directly under the station. On cold, rainy days, the shadows of the elevated tracks make the wet streets look even darker, which creates a very moody look in photos.
Das zweite Foto zeigt eine Straßenszene. Ich schoss es fast direkt unter der Station. An kalten, regnerischen Tagen, lassen die Schatten der Hochbahntrassen die nassen Straßen noch dunkler erscheinen, was auf Fotos für einen sehr atmosphärischen Look sorgt.
