Good night, friends!
Here are a few shots of some interesting building facades I saw in Berlin, a few years back... as well as one of the city's hidden treasures.
What I liked the most about this facade was not the architecture itself, even though it's an interesting one, but the vines growing all over it, as if they were trying to take the city back. 🤗
In some streets of Berlin, you'll see entrances like this... and to the passerby in the street it seems to be just a regular entrance to a residential apartment. I mean, there is nothing that invites people to enter... and it even seems like a private property, so most tourists will probably stay clear and move along. 😉
But as you might have realised by now, I'm not "most tourists" and I tend to investigate parts of the cities and towns that other folks stay away from, for one reason or another.
And in this case, entering the apartment complex led me to a terrace which belonged to a little and beautiful café...
Some locals were enjoying the place, relaxing, talking and eating breakfast... as I popped in to take this photo. I didn't want to disturb their tranquility so I quickly moved on and left them be. 😊
And this is not an isolated case. All throughout Berlin you'll discover these kinds of hidden cafés and bars... and even some discos and restaurants, if you are adventurous enough to go where no tourist has gone before! 😎
While on holidays, don't be shy. Just think of it as an adventure and be brave enough to explore. You might end up having nice surprises. 😉

there is a never ending landscape of small "Kneipe", Most Very Friendly!

This place looks amazing, I'd love to have a coffee there. Oh, wait, I don't drink coffee anymore. A tea maybe? 😁
I'd like to go back there myself... I caught bad weather and my photo collection from those days is small and most shots have very low quality! Most of them are so weak I don't even dare to publish them. 🙄
There is plenty of offer there, even Turkish beers and Chinese teas! I'm sure you'll find something you'll like! 😋

Berlin is a cool city. Especially on bicycle. I lived in Warsaw for almost 5 years and visited Berlin a few times.
That's awesome. I never visited Warsaw but I was in Krakow once and I loved it! How come there are so many beautiful single girls by square foot, in Poland? It looks like the opposite of Portugal. Over here, there is hardly any single girl ... the few that exist are either psychologically challenged (not to say worse) or they look like trolls. 😝
Yes Krakow is lovely. It wasn't destroyed by the Nazis as was Warsaw and is more of a cultural city than Warsaw. Always a bit of an issue between the Poles. Well yes lots of lovely girls there but trust me they have their issues as well haha. The reason they are so beautiful so told to me by the Poles themselves is because Poland has been raped and pillaged by so many other countries and the genes have been mixed so much... Not sure if its true but they surely are a diverse nation when you look at them despite the modern mono-culture forced on them from Communist times. In the past Poland was a very multicultural society actually.
I will admit, we have a lot of cities that the ivy has taken over and they are absolutely gorgeous! However, they have found that these plants actually do quite a bit of damage to the building, their roots infiltrate the plaster or mortar, I couldn't believe it!
But, I must say they are so beautiful!
The cafes, I have found a few that way and I love them. When they are hidden like this, many times they have an alternate entrance from another, more major street. They are truly like hidden gems!
