Yes, we have a wildlife rescue service here, but they are overloaded and we normally take the birds to our local vet. Only if I can catch them, or if they are too sick to fly.

It's probably a good idea to check those frequently that are without feet, as they'll be getting weak if they aren't able to adapt? I hope the shorebird has found a different method of hunting :(

Oh yes, we often go there, but up to now they all seem to be okay. If they get weak, they will sit on the side and then I can get them. The shorebird is a Moorhen and they eat water plants, small fish, snails, small frogs and worms, so I suppose it will be alright unless it loses the other foot.
