Free downvotes are the exclusive privilege of the whales. Let's be clear about this!

However, in an ideal form, each account should have the same free downvote mana and not necessarily related to the amount of the HP at all if it is really free, am I wrong?

Because if the downvotes were not free, then it would seems to be no problem that the downvoting mana were allocated according to as much as they own HP.

So, if free downvotes are really essential for the fair and correct operation and functioning of the HIVE community. Then it would be way more useful to let that each account have the same free downvote mana. Or would this be asking too much in a Freedom of Speech decentralized censorship-resistant Web3 democracy?

What about if serial free downvoters have to pick first a justified reason through dropping a coherent comment of why they are gonna downvote a post before they even could be able to downvote at all? No DV button at sight unless you comment first. ¿What about that? Eh? you MoFos!

Without commenting first, no downvote button should be available in the post anywhere. ¡That simple! To me at least, in this way it would seems far more transparent, democratic, fair and reasonable. Is this by chance too difficult to program in the HIVE code?

No, except that the 'free' DV's are calculated as an 'overage' of what DV's accounts can throw down. So, there's that. Also, there are between 3k and 4k actual users on Hive, which we know from how many publish posts in a given month. There are more than 2M accounts on Hive that could post, so most of those are sock puppets whales get for free because they have so much stake. So, if all those accounts got the same size free DV, then the whales would get them anyway, and that's that.

"No DV button at sight unless you comment first."

I'd be down with that. It's a restriction on freedom of speech (silence is a choice), but it's better than what we got now, and flags are censorship (which I just argued with one of those guys in the top 20 yesterday - who actually said there's no censorship on Hive. After I pointed out the definition of censorship, which was any suppression of speech, and gave some examples, such as double-tapping to the back of the head, or rolling your eyes at someone, the discussion ended without them ever answering why it was that DV's prevented spam, scams, and plagiarism if they weren't censorship).

There really needs to be some change that enables Hive to thrive, or sooner or later it's going to die, and all those tokens the oligarchs are hoarding will become worthless, and they'll have to go ruin some other platform. However, it ain't dead yet, and there's literally $M's that get extracted from Hive by those guys. From their profiteering perspective, everything is fine, because they're making lots of money, and that's - they think - what matters to them. I try to explain that free speech is more valuable than money, because their lives depend on being warned of danger, but they don't believe in such things because they think their money insulates them from danger.

They're all going to die, and someone else will take all their money when they do, and that will be that. My kids got their inheritance when they left my house, so they are aware they've not got anything coming when I die but my tools and stuff. And, of course, they blew their windfalls at the seething, hormonal age of 18 and today deeply regret not being smarter and investing that money better. They may not realize how well it was invested yet, but regretting blowing all that money on cars and chicks is a lesson they will never, ever forget. They don't blow their money anymore, LOL.

I guess those are lessons the whales haven't learned, that it's better to spend your money where you want it to go before you go and leave it to whoever can outwrassle everyone else in your family for it. Or worse, lawyers, the government, and probate courts.

Anyway, you probably spend more Hive than I do, even though you're getting flagged on the daily, because I don't use it as money. That's a bit weird, eh? I'm sure it's not enough, though, and wish I could do something about it. There was a time when I was getting flagged, some years back, when some whales were flailing about and I got caught in the middle and just got stomped for months. Eventually one of the flailers just started reversing the flags, and the flaggot quit. Since I don't spend the tokens, and Haejin kept making me whole anyway, I guess they finally got clued in that they were just impotent, which made them even more mad than me speaking up, so they quit.

Sooner or later, if you press on, someone is going to step in and put an end to HW taking out their impotence on you, too. Some things are just inevitable, and if you keep commenting on blogs you are reading, the quality of your discourse will get it done. Do you have accounts on Qortal, Theta, and such? If Hive doesn't straighten up and fly right it's going down eventually, and something that isn't bled dry of it's vigor by vampiric profiteers will take it's place. It's good to have options rather than keeping all the eggs in one basket, I'm told. My understanding is that Nostr doesn't have any kind of rewards for content, even though it rides on the BTC blockchain, which I think is funny.

Keep on keeping on, my friend!
