Imagine you have a skill or talent that makes you stand out from the crowd. Something not everyone can do. But even though what you have isn't common, many don't appreciate it or give it the proper attention. Ellie is a pianist who finds herself in a very similar situation. She has the skill and talent that few others possess. She can play the piano like a pro, while others can't. But very few people in her area value or give her gift the proper attention it deserves. She has fought hard to be noticed and to launch her musical career.
But perhaps unfortunately, she was born in a place where musical talent isn't in high demand and opportunities are few. The few opportunities that do exist are mostly only given to very famous people or those with particularly prominent careers. Up-and-coming talents and those who haven't achieved a reputation are left aside, and not many realize it.
She isn't ignorant of her situation; she's well aware that in her town, it's difficult to pursue a career as a distinguished pianist. The only way to truly take off is to move somewhere else, but she can't do that because she's caring for her ailing father and also has local businesses to run. She simply can't leave everything behind to start over.

Despite everything, she has never given up. She has worked hard to find a way to stand out with her music and piano in her town. For example, when artists from other areas have come to her, she has offered to work with them as a pianist, but almost always those who come already bring their own pianist. She has also sought a position at the local music club, which is in charge of offering work to play at public and private events. But she has also been rejected or offered the position to others with a little more experience. Because of this situation, she has entered a kind of vicious cycle. First, they demand experience, but since they don't offer her a position anywhere, she can't have a work history. So the same thing always happens.
So far, one of the few jobs she has gotten to put her talent and profession to good use is at a bar as an entertainer. Her job is simply to create a nice piano ambiance so that customers can enjoy the place and the drinks. But it's not as simple as many people think. Very few people there truly appreciate her talent. They just go there to drink liquor and ignore the music.
This situation she's been through for so long has made her very sad because, despite fighting and trying, she hasn't found a way to be truly appreciated or at least feel a little fulfilled.

Her most recent disappointment was one of the hardest, so much so that she even considered quitting all of this and that it wasn't worth it to continue trying in that place, at least until she left someday. What happened was that a company visited the town looking for experienced workers who knew how to play several instruments. They wanted to make a music video in the town but were having trouble bringing in musicians from other places to film it. So they thought it was a good idea to use local musicians for the project. Well, when she heard the news, she was very excited because among the musicians they needed was a pianist. So she immediately imagined herself working on the project. This opportunity would help her gain experience and then continue to climb the ladder and gain access to places that had previously been closed to her due to her lack of prior experience.
There were several local musicians there, and many of them already knew her. Even though they were enemies in the sense that they were fighting for the same position, they were empathetic and wished him luck because they clearly knew he had worked hard to get ahead. But disappointment was about to arrive. The hiring company had entrusted the task of choosing the musicians to a local manager, because he knew the area and the players better. Well, what happened was that, instead of choosing based on talent, that manager chose opportunistically. He hired his nephew and other musicians who had given him money to get the position, leaving aside the real talents.

After that, they sent the others away. This was deeply disappointing to her because she saw how unfair they had been. This made her lose interest in returning to music for a while, but since she had to eat, she went back to working at the bar. This time, she had lost all hope and told herself that this was her destiny, to be there. Time passed, and she was still there. But it turned out that one day some young men came to drink. They were celebrating the beginning of something. But she didn't know what. In reality, they were celebrating the launch of their band.
Suddenly, she noticed that they were watching her closely while she continued playing. But she didn't put up much of a fight about it. When everyone left and it was time to close, she closed the piano lid and left. But they were still there. They called her over and told her she played very well. They asked her if she was obligated to play there because of a contract or something similar. She said no, and she explained why they were asking her that. They told her they wanted to propose that she join them in their new band, since they needed a piano. She couldn't help but laugh, because it turned out that after searching for opportunities and not finding them, now they were coming to her.

She simply saw the light at the end of the tunnel and said yes, she wanted to join. Then they celebrated even more. The outcome of what's next remains to be seen because this band is still in its infancy, but now she's part of something and part of the people who chose her. She may never become famous, or maybe she will, but the fact that they noticed her was enough to rekindle the desire to fight. It's a fact: she will continue to compete her talent with others, even if it often goes unappreciated. But at least she feels happy.
