“Just create and share it”

For someone who struggle with perfection, perhaps that can be a consolation in today’s economy and time . I think that a lot of us, especially Gen Z and younger, being a content creator are part of our daily life. If you are someone who follows and check out trends like I do, I have seen this a lot on instagram. At least one of you probably has a micro influencer friend/acquaintance, perhaps you’re also one of them. For me, I have a few acquaintances, even close friends who have over 120k followers on instagram. They become one of these micro influencer and I never expected that they would. While content creation isn’t their main job, it’s something they do because they want to channel their passion and creativity outside their main job. Sometimes, these things also become secondary sources of income. At the same time, while spending my time over instagram and typical Web 2 sphere, I stumbled upon wanna be influencers. These people with their subpar gear, non aesthetic house and even not-so good looking create content and putting it out there. Depending on their niche, sometimes I find them spewing something that can easily be googled. Sometimes, it astounds me how people are that lazy and just feeds on whatever people with bigger following said. It’s livid but that’s the world & the society we live in.

Welcome to my brain dump, it’s morning and when I am able to sit down, sipping a cup of coffee while contemplating about life and emptying it out a little.

Somehow, that gives a lot of consolation to me that we don’t have to be perfect to create or share our lives and our way of living to the world. Another example that I admire is Yoko ono. She’s really strange and odd. By other standard, she is absurd and just an oddball. But she continues sharing her personality and work despite the comments. Do you have the ball to scream nothing in front of the crowd like yoko? It's why, if you’re reading this and still struggling with perfection, just remember people like Yoko Ono and those wanna be influencers who create despite their gears and not chasing perfection.

There’s always room for improvement. I think that’s something we all should strive for. When you are already making something and have enough to cover the living expenses, investing in better gear, learning how to elevate our work or just upping our skill should be on the horizon. I don’t know why anybody would want to be famous because there’s cons from being one but I recognize the good parts of it. By being famous, we can amplify our ideas and reach to the depths of the internet and perhaps, influencing people to change their ways or just reconsider ideas in their life.

Moving on to another topic, lately I am enjoying my reset sunday. It’s the time of the week when I get to do nothing and just focus on making sure the next week goes smoothly. I think that it’s nice to have a dedicated day to reset everything and start anew. By the way, reset week also applies to things. Usually throughout the week, I am misplacing a lot of things and during Sunday, I am putting them where they belong. While I know, sometimes it only lasts for about 5 days but at least, I am making a habit to stop losing my things.

These days, my space has expanded and I am not working with a tiny space anymore. Everything has its home and place. A while ago, my mom kept complaining about my habit of working from the dining room. But I had no other options except the last few days when I eventually used my room and the living room to work from. Ideally, when I am moving back in, I am attempting to optimize every space to work from.

By the way, there's one cleaning tip that I learned. If you’re like me who enjoys dropping things on a “drop zone” surface and loses an item the next day. There’s one trick, create a proper drop zone where it won’t be scattered all over but rather only on one spot where at the end of the day, we can find our things a lot easier than if it were scattered throughout surfaces inside our home.

Would you rather sleep or work more?

These days, I am prioritizing my sleep more than anything. In the past, I was hustling a lot that sometimes I can be awake for days. I don’t think I can do it right now because if I don’t sleep more than 3 hours, I would end up oversleeping more than I should. Am I able to work more than I should? well, technically I do. I think I have a pretty unique sleep schedule in which by 3 Am, I would wake up and that somehow makes me start the day pretty earlier than most.

However, there are days when I wish I was able to stay awake. Those days are usually when I have a lot on my plate and wanting to get things done. With everything that’s going on in my life currently, my family takes up a lot of my time. Some of them needed my help physically and sometimes, interacting with them was also energy consuming. So, conserving my energy has also been my priority. This is where sleeping matters the most to me and reset day can change the whole course of my week.

That’s all my brain dump for the day. Have a great week ahead.

Hope you are having a good Sunday Mac! Here it is starting the day and I had already had two coffees and when I read the first paragraph I went to pour the third cup hahaha. I saw this community many months ago, liked it, but didn't subscribe and missed it, so it's good to have found it again because I have so much to rant, complain or just talk about sometimes and wanted a safe space here on Hive.

I share your same impression regarding "content creators" on web 2. I know for many it's a secondary income option or a way to express themselves outside of their real profession, but there are a lot of misguided people doing mediocre jobs, and strangely they feel they are bigger than some really good influencers. I always want people to grow professionally, but for some people years go by and there is no change, because they don't actually invest in it. How nice that you mention Yoko, to me she also seems very strange as to many, but she has her audience and it's for being faithful to her art, still she seems to me far superior to the cases you comment on instagram 😅

You are right to try to get more sleep, I am in the same practice, it actually brings long term health benefits and if there is one thing you and I know well right now is that we need to be healthy, because our family needs us. So first we have to love ourselves to have the strength and willingness with others. I send you a hug and I wish you strength, I know you can do it all 🙏

It's only natural that some people feel like they're bigger than everything. Yoko is strange indeed but whenever you have self doubt with your creation, just remember a person like her exist haha. Hope you had a great Sunday!

It also crossed my mind to be a vlogger influencer thing! Yet I can't even speak with the camera on ,🤣😁.

But I see this was a good source of income for others.

Maybe you can do silent vlogs? a lot of people do that, you can just dub them later on.

I'm too tired to be a vlogger, to be honest. Hahaha!

I see haha

I just don't have the time to edit videos. I tried talking in front of the camera, not a problem. BUt just tiring. XD
