Indeed...Although I know it's not something people like to hear.

I'm pragmatic, a realist, and I see what I see; it doesn't take much effort to imagine that humans are headed in the wrong direction.

it is going on since the WWI, I'd say...

What drives it do you think? Greed?

Greed, laziness, arrogance, take your pick...

I agree with you...That triumvirate of terrible human traits is responsible for many ills.

It is very hard question to talk about, really. And I am bad when it comes to discussing more abstract things in English, as you remember I am not a native speaker. One of the reasons, me thinks, is that humans are apes... whatever you will think about all the culture we developed, deep inside we are still apes.

I watch a lot of historical YT lectures recently, and allso let me mention a curious book 'Brief history of a mankind' by Noel Harari, I still havent completed it. those things influenced me a lot.

in nature, like a monkey, a person can unite and manage groups of up to 50 people. thanks to language and abstractions - can be combined into groups of much larger size. if you manage a company of 50 people, and out of 1000 - and you will feel the difference, how many interesting things (struggles, intrigues, etc.) will happen even within the framework of such a small association.

prominent thinkers of the past believed that the maximum size of a city, which can be managed "normally" , in a natural way - is about 5,000 people. anything more is unnatural and hard to put under good control, and will get an inherent distortions, deviations, and flaws in great numbers.

accordingly, what we now have is .... a trouble. I feel more or less like this.

'Brief history of a mankind'

I have read it and it's thought provoking indeed.

Humans are complex creatures, but also quite basic, monkey-like as you say. You're doing well with your English, but I think a face to face chat would be required to truly enjoy this conversation. Maybe someday huh?

Yes, this digital !BEER is pretty diluted tasteless, haha
Of course, would be great to meet alive, probably I even would dare to make a visit to Hive fest (especially if the price would go up, providing me some budget for a trip). But, huh, given that me and my goddamned country is going where they currently going.. its near to impossible..

and thanks for your compliment! it all rather depends on vocabulary, -- my vocabulary is suitable for the usual level of conversation, but, as i've mentioned, it sucks when there comes a necessity to discuss more abstract stuff. next time!

I'd like to have gone to HF but it's a long way and a lot of money from Australia, you know? (I think you know). Don't worry about the language, sure it can be a little difficult, but we got there in the end, so it's all good.

...or we can put it simply: 'Capitalizm', haha 😜

I concur.
