if you dont like AI, downvote it. Easy.
I would like to see Ai goes massive on Hive and uses it as a store of data ( also scientific data behind paid peer preview shields). And this is IMO real value users and people of the internet would read.
But you are right, is up to holders. I would upvote it for sure. If someone wants to downvote it, sure he can do.
Fair game. But remember, Code is law and if enough people like it (especially if we see dirt cheap hive and new people coming, it doesn't matter what you or I think about all of it.
Yes and I am powering up so that what I think matters :)
Btw IMO since upvotes doesnt happen magical, everyone should be free to upvote what they want. The Author itself has 0 influence over it.
And Upvotes are more a kind of donation, not really a reward that measures any quality.
Downvotes itself are pretty political ( same as upvotes).
Everyone is free to upvote or downvote whatever they want. PoSV is just a guide on how you should vote if you agree with its principles.
There could very well be people that disagree with it and that isn't the point of PoSV.
But the author having 0 influence over it is not true. Author can decline the rewards, or send beneficiary to null or whatever. So they do have influence on what happens to the rewards to some degree.
And I agree on that rewards do not measure quality.
to a point someone with more stake doesn't agree with you.
Not really, they can disagree but they can't control how I vote.
Someone could write a bot and use the free 25% to counter all your votes. Nobody does but the technical, easiest thing to do.
I see all of this as potential attack vectors. The user experience for new users is really bad ( RC delegations should happen more, but i dont do it too, so i cant say a lot about).
A new user can write 3 comments or whatever and then runs out of RC. Most of us have way to much anyway. Something worth to think about.
And imagine someone makes a bot that downvotes all new users. Besides the limit, they have that would be a huge problem in user experience. Since it's a decentralized system, it is what it is.
Is not like they have a right for rewards, that's right. But there is a reason social media platforms remove dislikes on scale.
I talked about this already, months ago in one of my posts.
https://peakd.com/hive-196233/@mrtats/on-downvotes-stake-and-power
i give it a read.
And dont think if i talk about those things, i dont like Hive. I only think ( since I am retarded) what if those things would be improved :D
It could be such a cool place. No politics, just maximum user experience.
I think hive needs a way to value users besides make them net buyers. Not a easy task for sure, this could change the game we play
I don't think you hate hive or anything.
In an ideal world, we can just maximize the user experience. But we don't live in a ideal world, and everything has a drawback to it. And once one wants something one ignores or disregard such drawbacks.
In an ideal world we wouldn't have downvotes, because in an ideal world there wouldn't be people trying to game the reward pool through whatever means.
And that is the problem we have, I love people but I also hate people. People make things that I cherish, but they also work to ruin what I cherish.
